  1. Hi ds2 referral from gp to pead came last week and we got a cancellation appointment yesterday. It didn't go as well as i expected. The pead was very cautious . I don't think i said the right things my brain left my head. I had a list of over 50 point i wanted to make and I didn't even get them out my bag .I could really kick my self. I think its because I'm only 50% sure there's a problem but nursery school are 100% convinced. The pead is going to contact school and get the evidence they have been collecting for the E P. Anyway the out come is a full multitask assessment in September and a clinical psychologist will asses him in and out of school in October. Hopefully i will get another chance to say my bit . ds2 will go into infant school in September his teacher is aware of his problems and knows a lot about asd. Would it be a good idea to ask her to write down some of her observations on ds2 to give too the pead ? Or should i just leave it down to multitask assessment ! I fell like i should be doing something but I'm not sure what. any advice please I could really kick myself
  2. over the years i have put my problems down to every thing from anorexia to dyslexia .the more i read about females with AS the more i can understand my self . I dont no if im NT or AS . I dont no what NT is if that makes any sense. anyway i am who i am .
  3. Hi loulou <'> we went through a similar time with ds1 when he were 13/14. violence aggression swearing smoking smoking dope police. I asked for help from SS. they gave me a pat on the back said i were doing a good job. With one thing and another i ended up clinically depressed and then found out i was 17 week pregnant. The biggest mistake i made was saying no to a residential school .I couldn't send him away. I cant tell you how much i regret that now.we still walk on eggshells but thing are so much better now ds1 nerly18 and ds2 is 4. They play together all the time and ds2 calls ds1 his best friend look after your self <'>
  4. <'> <'> <'> hope all goes well thinking about you <'> <'> <'>
  5. l hi all i took the advice and got in touch with parent partnership thanks. pp setup a meeting with school and nursery. met the teacher mrs a who will be bobbys reception teacher she was very help full ,she is all so the deputy head. she as a special interest in asd and i think she said a diploma in asd and teachers to county. mrs a told me bobby has 3 iep and he is accessing special nursery 3 times a week.mrs a all so works at special nursery and sees bobby for 3 sessions a week. mrs a gave me lots of good advise. she thinks bobby is showing high level traits of a child with asd. we are having problems getting hold of ep our ep on maternity leave the ep said she was going to refer bobs to c d c she has not yet so i went to see gp and he has referred him. he has been seen by (salt) who said he has good language and communication but on own terms.mrs a said that even with out a statement or a diagnosis bobs will get the support he requires ! reading between the lines i think nursery and school are wanting a lot more help. nursery got hold of the ep last week and she now wants more evidents before starting statuary assessment of special needs.a more specialized salt is coming to asses him this week and school and i have been asked to fill in a gilliam aspergers disorder scale. school have penciled in there bit .i added it up to 82 ! its been very upsetting im going into nursery on Thursday and they are going to help me fill my bit in. im feeling quite overwhelmed at minute andrea

  7. mandyque i think your spot on with my ds1 .i will be keeping a eye on this problem with ds2 i think he is the same. we have had two hearing tests, he past both . he still says what ? every time we talk to him . he work well with visuals.
  8. thanx for your support. T IS 17 NOW AND DROPED OUT OF SCHOOL AT 14
  9. first let me say sorry i did not set out to teacher bash .we have had some very good teachers.i used the title because it was use by my son on many occasions. what i was trying to put across is if i had took more notice of what he were saying i may have been able to give him more help and support.
  10. hi , don't know where to post this but felt i need to tell the story. ds1 dx as/add 5y 17 now was statemented at 6y to 25 hours a week. over the years his needs were said to be less and his hours were dropped to none. at 12y probs kicked off again .he started skipping classes (found in toilets) walking out of classes being abusive and aggressive. an outreach assistant was brought in to observe his behaviours. she observed when teacher gave instructions for lesson T messed with pen/pencil case /looked through window. in strict classes (made to sit in seat) T only manage to write name and date in less strict classes T walked around looking over other kids shoulder at there work and then sat down to do his own work she concluded T picked up no Que from teacher as to what he should be doing T got all ques from looking at what other kids were working on (not copying there work) she went on to say T was such an expert at doing this, he had been doing this a long time, probably all his school life. T never liked school he always said there's no point going to school the teachers don't teach you anything! T got extra support in class again i hope this story will help us to help our children not go through this again <'>
  11. hi my ds1 17 dx at 5 and i still have times when i feel a fraud. i think sometimes its difficult for even us the parents to see past the bad behaviour and sometimes it is just bad behaviour, and then something comes along and stops you in your tracks and just know its aspergers.my ds2 4y is going through the process at the minute .when were at home hes fine. when someone come to are house or we go out or school thats when we notice thing are not quite right . <'>
  12. my first memory of something being not quite right with ds1 was when the h v measured his head and said what a big head he had he was 18m, dx 5years now 17.
  13. my ds2 4years is thomas mad, he does every thing thomas.he chuffs every were never walks he talks thomas,he learnt colors and numbers from thomas.he learn how to use the p c /internet because his obsession .he has a pc game called trainz and after watching his uncle down load thomas off the internet one day for him, the next day started downloading and installing all the thomas engines himself .now he drives these engines on his trainz game. he can not read or write ! its very complicated do not no how he does it ,he started doing this at three and a half.
