    movicol

aah i remember them days ,my son noticted it in anything but his cereal so i mixed it in the milk before puttting in the weetabix of course when he wasnt looking ! ,my ds had it for 6 months and they kept upping the dosage but now he doesnt have to have it anymore as he is in a routine now ,i was told to do this as well make them sit on the toilet at a time they can relax just for 10 min same time evey day and with the movical mixed in this worked for us
  3. my son too has had problems with constipation and soiling , and always had a funny smell of pooh even when he hadnt poohed himself ,he was refered to the constipation clinic when he was 5 and given movical ,and was told the smell was because he was constipated it was coming out of his pores ,nice ! but movical has worked and now he doesnt need it any more as he now has a rountine ,but still has very long poohs
  4. my son is 6 with pos dx of asd and has delayed speach , he is still on his first set of keywords cant get passed 1b so the school are trying a different tattic .they are putting a rectangle over letters as F ,T ,l etc.. and squares over other letters to help him see the lettters better ,has anyone else had this tattic used and can they tell me more about it ,was it effective any help would be grt
  5. my son has been under the peadatrician for 2 yrs now for a possiable diognosis of as , he is 6 ,the school now have started doing c.a.f it wasnt untill i was filling out long forms with the school that i realised that my son has lots and lots of problems not coping at all but whenever i asked the teacher how his day was they say it was fine ,also i found ou last week through another child that he had been banned from playtime for a week i spoke to school with crosss words and now he is aloud outside 1 playtime a week with a teacher whoppeeee so you may think school is fine but i would find out if there is any problems at all even if they have been dealt with ,me personally i feel that unless there are problems at school then its very hard to get any help
  6. thankyou for all your replys , justine 1 your sounds so much like mine , he refuses to wear a coat and likes to be naked as well, we havent changed our washing powder as my other son suffers with very dry skin and gets alot of infections ,we havent changed bedding as he only will sleep with thomas ,he does get very sweaty though ,as he is on the large side and is under a dietcian ,he doesnt just scratch at night its anytime of the day
  7. i am probably going to seem really stupid asking this but i have a 6 yr old in process of beaing diognoised with asd ,he seems to be having alot of bad dreams at mo and wont sleep in his own bed so he sleeps in ours (untill i know hes def gone then i put him back in his )now is this normal for children with as? ....also he has this thing at moment were he keep scratching saying hes itchy can this be anything to do with as ?as you can see by the time i have written this i was once agian woke up by son and he is now settled in MY bed ,thaankyou

  10. my ds can sound itallian esp when he says stoppa lookin ata me , because of his speach probs ,but we love this though seeing that he looks like a liitle italian rugby player
  11. thankyou for all your replys ,we took ds to a park at the weekend ,when we turned up there was a bouny castle some game stools etc (we didnt know they would be there) ds wansnt worried at first because we headed straight for the steam train thats open on a sunday ,loves trains ,and brought him a few thomas items that were there so he was a happy boy ,but when we went to the main park he had a big meltdown over a drink ,he wanted one in a orange bottle but they didnt have one .he was screaming kicking me etc you know the routine ,and of course had several pepole in the park telling him to behave for me ,which got me upset .he didnt settle so we went home ,just made me realise that even going to a park can be a trama ,so i think we will def be staying in this country ,at least if things get too bad we can just come home ,
  12. thankyou nellie site was very helpfull ,the only reason we was thinking of going abroad was because of the time of yr ,as it would be warmer in winter overseas .my sister has offered to come and help with the kids but IF we did go it would be a short flight and have to be some were very english as ds is also fussy with food
  13. we have applied to the family grant fund for a holiday ,we applied in may but have been told it can take up to 5 months .this would bring us to winter .they told us we could have thomas cook vouchers for holiday ,me and hubby are considering to go abroad but are worried how ds would be ,he was bad enough going to centre parks last yr did not cope at all ,but we are desperate for a hol ,got any tips for flying ?how were your kids etc..... places that you would recomend ds is 5 ..all help would be much appreciated...
