BBC Project - Aspergers and Employment
Pari replied to Emma Optomen TV's topic in General Discussion
I checked the Optomen site and had a look at their productions and couldn't find a single one with any content of quality, quite the opposite if what I saw was anything to go by; trash mostly. -
Pari started following anyone who is new.. come here, BBC Project - Aspergers and Employment, BBC Project - Aspergers and Employment and and 5 others

Emma you're coming across like a recruitment agency. -
I'd agree with you there, mine was a late diagnoses three years ago to be exact.

Due to a complete meltdown at work I started claiming it approx 30 months ago and yes it is backed by a complete medical history as a result I was not asked to attend. Another company is taking over the medical assessments due to the incompetence of ATOS in my area at least if not nationwide eventually. I don't think you are being nosey at all feel free to ask what you want. Information is only useful when shared.
-
If it was me I'd call CAB and ask them to assist you in the form filling process they have a welfare rights expert who works for them and these people are the experts on these forms. Call them tomorrow and see what they say
-
Ok stop for a minute and tell me is there a welfare rights group locally or CAB or an advocate service ? Which part is getting to you?
-
Not everyone is asked by ATOS to attend a medical, I wasn't this was due to my inability to cope with certain situations such as noises, I'm hypersensitive, and anxiety levels.
-
It's been quite a while since I claimed it but any help or advice I can offer you're welcome to.

Remember looking up a telephone directory for someone's number? All of the numbers I read until I found the right one remain in my memory to this day and by now a lot if will be useless information. As you say some of it is useful, and some not so much.
-
I'd happily swap mine for something less. The only time it was really useful was on the one occasion I gave evidence in court against a car thief.
-
Laddo I like your thinking on this one it's an excellent idea and I hope it grows as you would like it to.

I have around 1500 cd's at home and if anyone asks me to borrow something I can tell them exactly where it's positioned on the shelf, same with books. Nothing is listed alphabetically just placed where I put them at the time back when.
-
@Pari Do you also remember what people say or is it just visual? Conversations from years back I can remember word for word. No matter how hard I try to shut it all out it's impossible.
-
For me it has to be memory I can remember the content of books I read as a child page for page every single word. What someone was wearing on a particular day in reality or a movie, all the cars I passed on a journey colours and registrations, clean or dirty. Most days I try to shut it all off as it's too much.
