  1. I have recently been complaining that there were no discussion forums for adults who have the conditions we know as Aspergers Syndrome & Autistic Spectrum Disorders in the UK, So, I've decided to do something about it and put a discussion board together for people with AS/ASD in the UK to meet up, share their interests, pictures, charts, life experiences, exam results, achievements and anything that might interest you. You will find it HERE The board is fairly basic, but it was the only free way I could find of doing it. I will build a more professional forum in time if this one gets enough interest to make it worthwhile.

    DLA

Thanks Shona, I'll mention it to my Doctor tomorrow, I'm going there because I thought I broke my toe about 4 years ago, everyone I mentioned it to said I wouldn't be able to walk on it if that was the case, so I just left it, although it still feels odd and I still can't bend it.. OK, that was way off topic but what the... If i need any assistance, I'll send you a mail

    DLA

When my nephew got diagnosed, my family thought of me and saw the symtoms in me too, I'm clearly showing all the signs, I've done all the tests that are available online. Can I claim something as an adult? [ I'm 32 ] I'll be going to university soon and won't be able to get a part time job and stick it [ I've had over 100 jobs and always get dismissed through no fault of my own, or if it is my fault, I can't see why ] Yet I need a part time job while I'm studying for the 4 years I'll be at uni, or at least an income to help me out in some way, is this possible? How do I claim it, do I need to see a specialist? If so, Anyone know of one in Edinburgh, do they cost money to see? If that's the case, I'm pretty much doomed as I haven't got a penny.
  4. I like uncooked carrots & potatoes, I'm very pernickety about fat on food too, eg: I have a pair of scissors in my kitchen for removing rind from bacon before I cook it I'm also especially aware of the content of ready made meals, I won't have anything with Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil in, because it thins your arteries, Monosodium Glutamate is another, that is just an apetizer, you eat the food and 5 mins later you're hungry again, Emulsifiers are bad too that's the stuff that sticks the particles of meat together in a burger, Preservatives and any E-numbers I look into closely too, there are charts/lists around on the internet with most of the common E-numbers listed with their content & purpose. I'm extremely careful about what I eat, I don't want to get fat, ill, or die young.

    Introductions!!

Sorry I never introduced myself sooner, I'm 32 and live in Scotland. My nephew was recently diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. When my family found out what it was, they immediately thought of me and sent me some books on it, I have done lots of tests, including the ones listed in these forums and I'm well in the positive here for showing all the traits. If only this was recognised when I was at school, I'd have had a much easier life! <== I had to make use of this icon because I find it hilarious for some reason. while I'm at it: to the power of what is 'et al' ? "someone's et al my bratwurste!"
