  1. My stepson is almost 13 and has never been imaginitive with toys, or done roll play according to his dad, he has been with us since age 6, and my son then 3 used to play on the floor with cars ect, pretend people, chatting away, and Chris, my stepsonb wpould think he was mad, and ask what he was doing and why was he talking to his toys and himself. my son is 9 now, and we now have a son together who i have watched for aspergers signs, nothing seems aparent yet, he plays, likes other kids, is imaginative ect the only thing when he was smaller that he did was line everything up, apart from that so far we havnt noticed anything else. We watched as we think hubby and his dad also have aspergers, although milder symptons than Chris. Michelle
  2. Have to say the same as last poster about my stepson, he has such an eveil laugh sometimes, and laughs at nothing, just sits laughing to himself, or gets hyper and laughs and screams, then other times he can laugh at things on tv, which arnt that funny, but he thinks they are, i find not saying why you laughing the best thing, as if we ask him he can get very defensive!!! Michelle
  3. Hi guys, not posted in a while as things been hectic, finally getting some recognition that C does have aspergers, and we are currently reading through all the leaflets we should have had a few years ago. Anyway i forgot to remind you all, my program was on today, did anyone see me, it was make me perfect on ITV. Wasnt as bad as i expected it to look, so fairly pleased. Michelle
  4. Hubby scored 25 or 28, cant remember, stepson 33, but think he could have scored a little higher as he sees, getting dressed up once this week as having an interest in how he looks, when in reality he doesnt have an interest really. Michelle
  5. Well i did this test, i have an aspergers stepson, we are having a lot of difficulties at the minute, so thought i would just see what score i got, i take it the higher the score the more aspergers you are, is that right, my score box came up with...you could do better 1 point!!!!! So whats that make me??? Michelle Going to let hubby do it later, when he comes down from his discussion with stepson, who has hit the roof tonight!!!
  6. Whats the supermarket please, bet they dont have any left at that price!!! Michelle
  7. Thanks for that simon, i just checked my form, and rang them, somehow, dont know why but they had put it down as me getting the DLA, not my son, so he is going to get it sorted and send out a new award letter. Thought it seemed strange. Thanks again Michelle
  8. I havnt had SS involved with my aspergers stepson, but i understand were you are coming from, we had a visit this week due to my oldest daughter having some trouble with her friends dad and we reported him to the police, so now the SS are involved, obviously we were a little shocked as our 14 year old hadnt done anything wrong, this man is 36, and was charged with grooming a minor, but all went ok, she is only assigned to us for support, ther mans daughter also has one assigned to her for protection, and is going to be sent back to her mum IF she is able to look after her, so try not to worry, i think they just have this bad reputation!!! Hope all goes well Michelle
  9. I did get 170 a week child tax credits (5 kids, step family and hubby works part time), we have now been awarded DLA middle rate, no mobility, and also carers allowance, they are now paying me 163, does this seem about right as i know the CA is taxable, but also know you get a premium for DLA, not sure how much though, we still have to wait to hear from housing benefit as we did get about 30 a week with that, but its not been sorted yet. Michelle
  10. Not had chance to get on for a while, boy my head is spinning tonight, had 3 solid nights of hyperness with Chris, he is SO loud, even speaking to us he would think we were a million miles away LOL, its so difficult because his idea of playing with his 3 year old brother is throwing himself all over the floor, screaming and shouting, pulling little one about, and then doing things to annoy him and he wont listen when asked to calm it down a little...i am just playing... is all we get ahhh ignore me i am just shattered!!! Michelle
  11. I feel for you, my 14 year old daughter had hers done when she was 7, but she didnt cope well, and wouldnt eat, so had longer in hospital, a little 3 year old had hers done, and was brilliant, my daughter also had all 3 done, but also had grommits the first time when 5. She had her ears pinned back in january, that was really awful for me, she cope brilliantly, my other daughter and son have also had generals. Hopefully you will both be fine, and kids get over things very quickly!!! Michelle
  12. I had them for a week, but refused to let it get me down and stopped taking them, husband has been on them for 2 years, came off for a few months, but has had to go back on them, its his son, my stepson who has aspergers, he lives with us fulltime. Michelle
  13. Chris 12 wants to be a pro fisherman....or anything his dad happens to mention, usually he doesnt think for himself, ie, if his dads say oh i wanted to be an electrician, then thats what he says, and dad wanted to be a plumber, so at the time of mentioning that thats what he wanted to do, but the pro fisherman has come from himself, as he really likes fishing, and watches the programs on sky. As long as he is happy we dont mond to much. Michelle
  14. I havnt had time to read others replies, but we found till this year, Chris is 12 he wouldnt play out in the garden, let alone anywere else!!! Now he does go out, but his friend lives a stones throw away, they often walk to a school sports field nearby, but theres always trouble when he returns, ie, things always happen to him, someone supposedly spat at him outside our house, his dad went out, but they had gone to far by the time he got there, a 5 year old boy just round the corner happened to come up to him, and punch him in the face, for nothing, my other son (9) goes with them as well but things dont happen to him, and noone seems to be able to give a proper recall of what happened, ie if Chris provoked it ect, so his dad has started to make him stay in the garden or outside the house. Its difficult as we as parents can see little ways that he might antagonise other kids, like he often shouts from the car window when i pick him up from school, then doesnt understand why the child he shouted at has a go at him the next day!!! So usually its much harder work letting him out than when he wouldnt go out. Michelle
  15. We have been fighting since my stepson was 61/2, he is 12 now, and still no diagnosis, he was diagnosed ADHD, but we know its not that, later found out the pead wasnt even sure he had it either, but still put him on ritalin, then concerta, it was us who took him off it and tried to get other answers, came to the aspergers diagnosis ourselves, but astill fighting for an official diagnosis. Ed physch and school senco also say aspergers. Michelle
