Provided that you have a PC (which you do) and that you have some software which can rip CDs into MP3 files (which you probably do - that's what your daughter does now) then the iPod will take it. You can buy stuff directly from iTunes but iPods will take MP3 files (you just load them through the iTunes software)

Any iPod comes with software called iTunes.

You fire up the software, put a music CD in the CD drive, and click yes when a little box pops up asks you if you want to add the CD to your library.

When it's done (About 5 mins) plug the iPod into your computer using the white lead that comes with it and the CD will automatically be copied into the iPod.

It's not even as difficult as this description makes it sound! If you can read and post on this forum, you'll have no trouble using an iPod.

It is to me too...which is a bit worrying given that I'm a programmer/tech support guy

And here's another thing - if you get one of those cassette adaptors you can play your ipod through the car's or home's radio cassette player - simply marvellous - lots of digital tunes and no messing about with cassettes and beats stupid car CD players any day. :D

My older kids have ipods and love them - keep the receipt though as they do have a tendancy to break - or maybe that's just my boys' usage

:D

Were up and running with the ipod nanos.................

Now we wondered how we ever lived without them were converted.

Took ages to load up our cd collection to itunes in all it took me 3 days solid. But now its done and all you do is choose which tunes to synchronise.

We have one of them cassette thingys there good no more cds rattleling about.

just do not wipe the music from the itunes library on your pc to free up space - the next time you plug in your ipod it will "update" the ipod with the music in your itunes library (none there as you have deleted it) so you lose all music. my hubby did this and lost more than 60 cds worth of music which he then had to add again! :crying::wallbash::angry: - just a few of the emotions he felt lol

You can set itunes up so that you can update the ipod manually rather than it doing it automatically :) ... I do this now :) - look it up in the help section as I can't recall where you do it at the moment!
