Mumble Report post Posted February 2, 2008 Where has the section at the bottom of the main forum screen saying who has been online today (not who is online at the moment) gone? I don't like it when bits change or move without explanation

baddad Report post Posted February 2, 2008 several things possibly related, and all to do with trying to keep some of the 'gunk' (huge numbers in 'most visitors online'/auto generated registrations showing up in 'members online') from appearing + a general software security update... We asked admin to try to get rid of the auto-registrations (they appear in black in the 'members online section') so the board only shows members who have completed the registration process. We felt that the names - often quite explicitly sexually orientated - not only looked awful, but could be off-putting for new or potential members who didn't know that these registrations never actually get past the authentication process. In conjunction with that, there were also a few upgrades to the forum software and security software, and these can have some temporary effects by returning the boards to 'default' settings. I'm fairly certain the 'missing' area will have something to do with that, and that it's a temporary thing, and that admin will let us know if it's not going to be temporary. Possibly, we will have to make a choice between nasty names in the dark lettering or not having that area at all, but hopefully not. L&P BD
