Alexandra Report post Posted February 24, 2008 Its been a while since i was on here, life's been hectic really, just a quick update really M (adhd and hfa) has changed his meds, eating is still a problem although we were pleased when he ate all his dinner at his grandma's house as he doesn't normally eat food unless I've prepared it, so step forward there. Still very obsessive but we can cope with that, not sure others do... Sleep not good he has melatonin but to be honest he's harder to wake in the mornings when he's on it,we have more battles, so he doesn't have it very often now. baddad Report post Posted February 24, 2008 Hi alexandra Good to see you're making some progress with the eating - it can be a toughie The thing at granny's shows how situational it can be, so the more you can do to 'generalise' that positive the better There was a really interesting documentary on last night about a little girl who has been tube fed since birth following a series of stomach ops... now 8 (I think) she has just had the tube removed and is taking 'liquid foods' orally and testing (licking/orally exploring) solids... she was dx'd with a 'perception disorder' (described as 'a mild form of autism' ) halfway through the programme... Fascinating stuff - well worth watching if they show again L&P BD
Tally Report post Posted February 24, 2008 Have you looked into whether the dose of melatonin is too high? Cutting the tablets in half or using it in a liquid form would enable you to adjust the dose by smaller amounts. Just a thought anyway.
