Suze Report post Posted September 29, 2008 Hi, just a quick one ....................my dose has been reduced from 20mg, to 10mg, since I,ve reduced the quantity(2wks ago), I,ve lost the will to live , feel grumpy and moody all the time.I,m presuming this is the result of halving the dose(although its quite a low dose anyhow)......does anyone know howe long the withdrawal lasts , cos I,m feeling a little ######!..................help. Kazzen161 Report post Posted September 29, 2008 It may be that the reduction in dose is too large/quick - my friend was shaving bits off her tabs, to do it more gradually. Speak to your doctor.
mossgrove Report post Posted September 29, 2008 It the step down to 10mg is too steep try doing 10mg on day and 20mg the next for a week or so then go to 10mg a day. It took me a long time to lower the dose so don't be too hard on yourslelf if it takes a while. Simon
farfalla Report post Posted October 4, 2008 hi suze i am on the same, but reducing it by 10mg is a bit heavy and could well be the reason for the tearful and mood. go back to the doctor straight away and tell them how you feel, they should increase it back to20mg no problem. and as the above post said, ask the doctor if 10 then 20 every other day may work better for you, but you will need to see the doctor otherwise you will run out of tablets then be in a bigger fix. hope this helps hugs far xx

billabong Report post Posted October 7, 2008 Hi Suze Mine was reduced from 20 to 10mg and I was fine for a few months but then life events (OK, just life!) got to me and I couldn't work out why I was so miserable and tearful all the time, so asked for 20mg again and I'm much better for it. Possibly not the 'answer' you wanted! One GP says I'm just one of those people who are more prone to being and anxious, and that there's a case for long-term use (and I don't have a problem with that, sorry, I'd rather feel OK than ). So maybe now's not the time for you, or maybe life just isn't as easy for you as for some people (those dear little challenges in life!). Look after yourself <'> >< <'>

SuzyQ Report post Posted October 8, 2008 Hiya, I was put on citalopram ages ago to try to calm my blood pressure down as it wouldn't respond to other medications, I have now in recent months had to double up to 20mg as depression has set in and it doesn't seem to have made a huge difference, I know this doesn't help, but hey I know how your feeling, your not alone <'>
