I have major depressive disorder and acute anxiety disorder. I've been on Cymbalta 60mg for about two years and it seems to work for me. I'm also on Mirtazapine 30mg so I'm really only familiar with the effect of both in combination, rather than the effect of one or the other in isolation. However, I do know that Cymbalta doesn't have such a strong sedative effect as Mirtazapine.

Since January I've also been on Quetiapine but I'm planning to come off that because it makes me very sleepy for most of the day.
