Help please -- coat-hangers needed!

Do you have any coat-hangers to spare? We are running low on them at the A-Shop in Beccles and need some more, especially wooden ones.

If you have any that you no longer need, we'd welcome them with open arms :) please ring 01502 715500 or call in at the A-shop, 1a Market Street, Beccles, NR34 9AQ.

All donations gratefully received.

I have not done much personal on this website for a long time - I guess my life has improved a bit that don't need it as much as I used to. Life is still full of problems, but I am well-supported at work. So progress of a sort.

Appeal for the Wood Work shop at Beccles

Dear supporters, our wood work shop at Beccles is running low on materials, particularly chemicals such as wood stain and weather protection paints. We are also getting low on wood!!

If anybody is clearing out a garage or shed and has any to spare, we'd be grateful to have them and can collect locally around Beccles.

We also need wood, particularly old pallets, so if you have any wood to spare that we can turn into boxes, bird tables, planters, etc. please let us know - your support is appreciated.

Appeal for filing cabinets!

Dear supporters, do you have any filing cabinets to spare? Yes, you read that right: filing cabinets :)

We are seeking to obtain three or four filing cabinets, wood or metal construction, but that are lockable with keys that match.

If anybody is clearing out or refurbishing an office and would like to save taking lockable filing cabinets to the tip, please would you consider donating them to us?

Autism & SEN - Friendly Show at Norwich

At Norwich Library on Monday 21st December at 3pm: a relaxed performance of "The Little Match Girl' specially adapted to be accessible for those with Special Educational Needs and Autism.

This is a 50mins production using puppetry, live music and light play. The strong visual and sensory element to the production lends itself perfectly to an audience with SEN and Autism. There will also be a show guide and a meet and greet before the show to help with any anxiety. These performances are designed to be an inclusive community experience to be enjoyed by all.

To contact the venue, tel. 01603 774703 or email Millenium.lib@norfolk.gov.uk. To contact Moon On A Stick productions, visit http://www.moononast...roductions.com/.

This is a magical and mischievous twist on this well-known tale, complete with puppetry, Christmas carols and audience interaction; on Christmas Eve, snow litters the ground and the little girl is alone. She is desperate to get warm so she lights the matches that she has been selling. With each match she is transported by its warmth into the scenes behind the glass. She becomes a part of the festivities, meeting father Christmas, playing in the snow and eating the most delicious feast but with the light of each match they fade and are just beyond reach.

Using their unique combination of visual storytelling, live music and object work, Moon On A Stick transform the stage into a stunning snowy spectacle. This beautiful, playful production is suitable for ages 3+ providing a perfect Christmas show for a younger audience and a joyful retelling of a winter classic.

Dear Supporters - Have you any bubble wrap?

The A-Shop at Beccles is in urgent need of bubble wrap for sending items sold on eBay. If you recently bought something with a lot of bubble wrap packaging, would you let us have it? This will help us and is good recycling too :)

Please contact us on 01502 715500 or email p.ingle@asperger.org.uk Any donations gratefully received!

Advance notice: AutismCon 2016, 5th March, London

National Autistic Society have released preliminary information about the coming year’s autism convention, or AutismCon; this is a public meeting modeled on cosplay / sci-fi conventions but is about autism, rather than Batman or Star Wars.

One of our autistic staff members attended the first one (in a private capacity) and reported that while there were the expected teething problems for a “first of its kind”, they felt it was worth going overall and highly recommended.

Early details for this year: http://tinyurl.com/AutismCon2016

Can you help us collect EDP Community Chest tokens?

Dear Supporters, Norfolk Community Foundation and the Eastern Daily Press have announced the EDP Community Chest.

In January there is a total of £15,000 on offer and amounts from £250 to £2,500 will be available monthly through the whole year.

Not-for-profit groups, such as Asperger East Anglia, in the EDP circulation area of Norfolk, North Suffolk and east Cambridgeshire are able to enter and bid for this funding but they need to collect 500 tokens which will be printed daily in the Eastern Daily Press.

Please help us collect tokens so that we can bid, and ask your friends and family too. And please let us know, so that we have some idea of how many we might get. Any funding we bid for and win goes to helping people affected by Asperger Syndrome.
