Mihaela Report post Posted December 26, 2014 (edited) Same here! They have a mystery about them, and know when they're loved. They all have different pussonalities too. They're graceful, and feature more in art nowadays than any other animal. As a companion I particularly like any fluffy, cute, friendly animal. I've always wanted a sloth, serval, skunk or slow loris for a pet! Edited December 26, 2014 by Mihaela

Mihaela Report post Posted December 27, 2014 They certainly are. Have you heard of Laetitia Becker, a young Frenchwoman who emigrated from Strasbourg to the Russian taiga? She lives in a deserted village on her own and has devoted her life to studying and conserving the wolves. I'm pretty sure she's an aspie. I envy her way of life. She's perfectly content in her little wooden izba, has the internet, a mobile shop visits her and she has no wish to socialise or return to 'civilisation'. Waterboatman Report post Posted December 27, 2014 Human, were animals as well. Like the human who just rang me by mistake waking me from a unhelpful slumber.
felines are superior Report post Posted December 28, 2014 Human, were animals as well. Like the human who just rang me by mistake waking me from a unhelpful slumber. Humans can be annoying, and I hate it when people wake me up from sleep. someone woke me at three am once for a lousy wrong number, the nerves! like i dont have enough to deal with insomnia and not sleep starved anyway. Mihaela Report post Posted December 29, 2014 I had one of those calls last night (withheld number) and it broke my dream, at the exact moment after my friend's mother had dialled a number on a dream phone. Bizarre!
Laddo Report post Posted December 30, 2014 Humans can be annoying, and I hate it when people wake me up from sleep. someone woke me at three am once for a lousy wrong number, the nerves! like i dont have enough to deal with insomnia and not sleep starved anyway. Animals can be annoying too to be fair. The amount of times I've been woken up by flying-rat seagulls is unreal
oxgirl Report post Posted December 31, 2014 My cat is definitely annoying, she is driving us crazy with her incessant whining. I like horses most of all. ~ Mel ~

Mihaela Report post Posted January 1, 2015 (edited) I've had both dogs and cats - as well many others types of animals. I like the grace, independence, playfulness, idiosyncrasies, complexity and cleanliness of cats. I like to be 'owned' rather than to own. A loyal cat says a lot more about the animal-human relationship than a loyal dog would - for cats are not pack animals and to gain their trust and acceptance should be seen as an honour. All my cats are loyal and loving - as all domestic cats would be with suitable human companions. (I've studied the psychology and history of cats, as well as that of human-animal relationships. Very interesting and illuminating stuff).btw Cats are autistic dogs! Laddo Report post Posted January 2, 2015 That is such an interesting and thoughtful article! It's such a good analogy and I think it could be really effective in helping NT people understand AS better. It should become mandatory reading for NTs!
