spottydog Report post Posted November 21, 2015 My 13 yr old daughter is currently in a short term placement at a learning centre. We are looking for a suitable autism specialist school for Girls who are educationally 'more able', preferably in the south of england we live on hampshire /dorset border. She is currently waiting for her EHC pLan to go to panel but all involved feel that the draft will be accepted. Any opinions about schools accepting girls would be welcome. Sally44 Report post Posted November 24, 2015 Take a look at the SENAD or PRIORY group of schools. Also ask your local authority to send you a list of the specialist, independent secondary schools they use for children who are able and on the autistic spectrum. You maybe surprised that they already use at least one that might be suitable. You can also look on OFSTED and search independent specialist schools and see if anything comes up. Contact your local NAS group, and/or visit the NAS website and search for schools.
bed32 Report post Posted April 11, 2016 A bit of a late reply but I have not dropped into this Forum recently - sorry if it is too late Given your location the 2 Priory schools (Southlands and Grateley House) are worth a look, Southlands has just started admitting girls but Grateley has being doing so for some time. Both are highly regarded as ASD schools. I was about to mention Stanbridge Earls with a massive caveat - but notice that that has closed! Wow!
