Are we talking Omega 3 here?

The RNI - the EU's new standard to replace RDA - is set a 2g per day for an adult male.

My 11 year old son gets this and more. Go steady though, because what isn't used comes out the other end in softer bowel movements. There is also an initial period where because the body has had a 'drought' of omega 3 the initial intake can be higher (my son used to get 3 times the recommended dose). It's a case of only doing one thing new at a time and watching to see what happens.

The other thing to be aware of is if there is Vitamin A or D in the fish oils (such as cod liver oil), because you realy do not want too high a dose of those. Best to use an oil without.
