Damn!Missed this programme but will hopefully catch a repeat soon.

We saw the film today and thoroughly enjoyed it! We were at the cinema not long after 10am (to avoid crowds etc), and luckily there was only about a dozen of us watching the film...plus we didn`t have to use the earplugs i always carry...wahey! We`d definitely recommend the film to everyone.

Having a great half term here, no school stress at all
-
Yep i`m a single parent...and very happy that way too.

My son has just turned 8 and is starting to use the word "Aspergers" without any problem at all, i don`t see any need for him to use the term Aspie but i`ll just go along with whatever phrase he seems acceptable to but if he chooses to use it then thats fine with me too. I personally don`t think there are any wrongs or rights with particular terms as long as your kid is happy.

We`re going to see the film over half term, the trailer for it looks great. My son loves the other three films so hopefully he`ll enjoy the trip to the cinema.(fingers crossed!)

I only caught the last few seconds of this due to getting my son ready for school, what was said?

Cheers for the info, will try to watch but my AS son is 8 on the 11th so i might have to try and record it due to birthday celebrations!

Same here Annie, i had my flu jab yesterday whilst attending the asthma clinic with my son. I also suffered with severe chest infections etc but since starting the jab (in the last couple of years) i don`t get as ill as i used too. Unfortunately my AS son was in absolute bits when i was having it done and he definitely won`t be having it done for sure!

My son was off school today due to being sick during the night but the secretary has just rang with a message from the headmistress to say that from Monday we have got the two and a half hours i`ve been fighting for....WOOOO HOOOO!!!
-
Thanks Phasmid, i wasn`t sure about where i stood legally and know plenty of other parents who have done something similar although they haven`t got into trouble. I`ll check out the info on the other forum...thanks in advance

An update as promised! It was quite an interesting meeting i had this morning which lasted almost 90mins, with the SENCO and 1-2-1 present. Apparently the school sent off the necessary paperwork in Feb/ March this year and the extra hours were denied (first i`ve heard btw). The headmistress is now involved in personally hounding the LEA because she feels so strongly about the issue, this is something i`ve been told she doesn`t normally do. We have agreed (on my insistance!) that my son will be finishing school at 3pm everyday until something is sorted out for the long term future. When i complained again about the complete lack of communication from his teacher i was told (off the record) that the headmistress had ordered his teacher not to speak to me at all during the time his 1-2-1 was off!! Surely that isn`t right?! Plus she had ordered his 1-2-1 not to tell me she was going to be off...i`m absolutely livid with this woman! To cap it all off, when i was trying to sneak out of school without being seen, i saw my son in the main hall with his face down on a pile of PE crash mats physically kicking out and crying/ screaming while his teacher just stood there nervously laughing because she didn`t know what to do.

I`d just like to say i am so glad i found this thread ahead of my meeting at school on Monday as i was going to ask to see my sons records but wasn`t sure if i`d be able to...nice one!
