  1. why not get her a zipper? u know the same material as a jumper but with a zip, so that maybe she would wear that over her jumper if it was really cold??
  2. fantastic, glad that you're enjoying it.
  3. no i don't think anyone can actually know how another person is feeling no one can possibly ever know that, no one could possibly know how you feel if they are not you! i often wonder how the world would look and sound using someone elses eyes and ears. like the colour yellow? do we all see it the same way? sorry i think i am going a bit off topic now and probably not making much sense at all.
  4. I deff agree about must have seperate room for eating, i would say it would have to be completely seperate and not just one room devided in two, but thats just my personal opinion. if quiet room is purely for 'relaxing' i would suggest chairs both soft and plastic to suit diff preferances, also some sort of dividers maybe? providing a bit of privacy/security, it would be rather awkward with a couple of ppl sitting in an empty room looking at eachother! Deff no eating in the room tho.
  5. awe u can't be a cr@p thinker bid, surely not!

  7. we went last year to Craig Tara and had a great time, we had a challet that was clean and well maintained, matresses and duvets looked new, as did pillows, we were pleasently surprised as we expected it to be rather shabby and dirty!
  8. sorry Mumble no advice as i don't feel the cold I am currently sitting in my room with no heating on and the window open! other than the things you are already doing i don't know what else to suggest? Do you not habe your heating on?
  9. thanx though with the priority online booking u get ur choice of park and dates anyway. Just booked up a weekend in may for 4 people for 38 though u have to add on 5 per night service charge so thats + another 15 and passes for us will work out at 11 as kids are free anyway total of 64 for 4 people for 3 nights so still a bit cheaper. i also have to add linen i expect that to come in at 6 a room, i think thats what i paid last time. so that adds an extra 12 making it 78 for 4 people for 3 nights. tho good to know for future about booking direct.
  10. how does that work then Cathy? As if u look on their websites it will come up at their usual prices does it not?
  11. If you have gone on these holidays in the past u will have a priority booking form, so should be able to book online today if you have your 8 tokens. You will be more likely to get your first choice.
  12. it depends on the understanding. does she have a good understanding of what she has read. a child can read something really well, but still not understand what they haveread, if you know what i mean? not have the understanding to be able to go back and asnswer questions about what has just been read? Not sure feel free to ignore me if i am talking rubbish
  13. i would agree that you either have ASD or don't have ASD. if a person is unsure or does not have a dx, then they could say they have some traits of as, not that they have as.
  14. i would agree, stick them up on a wall in ur room. thats the only 'safe' place in my house where i know ppl are not gonna move anything, or that i am not going to end up loosing it. My 'safe' places are always too safe! lol Mumble up here we say its like Sauchiehall St, rather than Picadilly Circus
  15. often i have heard people say, that everyone has autistic traits. i think it may be 'normal' to have a couple of little quirks, like hanging washing out a certain way, folding towels a certain way etc. i think with as/hfa it is more that a couple of little quirks, and will impact on your daily life. Their is a lot more to autism than not being good with ppl and appearing a bit rude, also seen as a trait or ppl may use having asd traits as an excuse for rudeness, or organising things in a certain way. sorry i'm not v good at explaining things. don't know if i have even answerd what u were asking or not!
  16. I did childcare training, (what would qualify me as an early years worker) and out training on ASD was NOT good at all, i think we read a section of a text book about it, and the lecturer waffled on about something stupid, she said. Someone who has autism wil have problems communicating, but they will have an obsession maybe about bridges, so you should say something like. I went over a bridge and i felt happy, how did you feel when u went over a bridge?? then they will be able to answer you No joke! WTF? and it was only a couple of years ago, so fairly recent. I agree that early years workers should be placed within special needs schools nurseries. I requested this and was laughed at, (by the lecturer) and told that i would never be able to work with SEN because i wasn't even coping in mainstream. COW! sorry wee rant their.
  17. yes surely with it being an ASD service they should have alternative, most suitable being an e-mail address. Difficulty using a phone is a common problem, i hate it, even if its to speak with a close family member.
