  1. Dear A-S Warrior

I am not sure how you can say that moderators and admin are not signing into the forum as I for one sign on a regular basis and indeed a lot of what I do is behind the scenes and would not be visible to yourself.

I have made a forum change to stop guests viewing members profiles which is actually a sensible precaution and encourages visitors to join the forum as members.

    Kind regards

  2. Dear darkshine

Sorry for the shock I was under the impression the upgrade that I have just performed was a minor one to keep the forum software up to date and secure but having completed the upgrade it is obvious that this has a major look and feel change as well.

    Kind regards

  3. Thanks Lufty - though I wish I totally understood this. :tearful: It's my Yahoo email that won't send to any email addresses belonging to this one company (sends to everyone else fine), and I can send to this company from my Google or college email accounts (but I don't want to use these for this as I try to keep things separate).

How do I find out who my ISP who hosts my email is? I use uni wifi in student halls so don't pay anyone for a separate internet connection.

    Hi Mumble

In your case it is the Yahoo email server which is being blacklisted.

You need to contact Yahoo and good luck getting a response from them !!!

    Regards

  4. Hi Everyone

Normally when you send an email it is first sent to your ISPs (Internet Service Provider) server such at BT Openworld or Wanadoo etc.

This mail server receives your email and then sends it to the recepient.

It is therefore the ISP mail server IP Address (note not DNS) which has been blacklisted and not your computers IP address.

Sending it from your computer using a different wireless connection or indeed using your account on a different PC will not make any difference.

You need to contact your ISP who hosts your email as they are responsible for getting their server taken off the blacklist and by the way often they will not do this.

    I hope this helps

    Regards

  5. HI Everyone

Sorry for the late reply however the main reason is for disk space requirements.

The current forum database is over 300 megabytes which is for the system tables and the forum posts.

Pictures, Images and videos will drastically increase the disk space requirements exponentially and we are simply not geared up for hosting this type of content.

This has always been a support forum for people touched by Aspergers and ASD and there are many other better alternatives for viewing videos and pictures such as YouTube, Facebook, Flicker etc.

    Best regards

  6. Hi Everyone

Baddad is absolutely correct with the correct answer and the rationale for introducing the feature.

It has significantly reduced the number of hacking/spamming attempts we have received.

I am sorry that it has caused a potential member difficulties.

    Kind regards

  7. Dear All

If you have Skype installed you can turn the telephone number recognition off by

    selecting within Intenet Explorer :-

    Tools

    Skype Add-on for Internet Explorer

Untick the Turn number highlighting on

    Regards

  8. Dear All

Whilst we work through the teething problems with the new software it is really important to receive any feedback whether negative or positive.

At the moment the only technical problem that has been reported is from a couple of members who are receiving a blank page after making a post or PM post. Can you please report back on whether you experience this issue or not so I can get a feel for how widespread the problem is and whether it is happening randomly, for specific browsers or specific members.

I think we will like the new look and feel once we get over the shock and find our way around however there was really no choice as we needed the latest version to keep us protected from security and hacking attempts.

    Kind regards

  10. Dear All

Further to my comment about needing a new logo for the forum due to the colour change I am hoping Littlenemo will be able to work some magic to change the current logo to fit in with the new forum design.

What do you reckon Littlenemo ?

  11. Morning everyone

I am not getting a blank page when I post a new topic or a reply.

Can you describe the blank page in a little more detail please for instance do you see the header of the page etc. etc.

    Many thanks

  12. Dear All

I have finished testing the forum upgrade and revised backup procedures and will overnight upgrade the forum which will result in the forum being offline for a couple of hours.

I need to warn you that the forum upgrade gives a very new look and feel with many new features so it will take some time for us all to get used to it.

Also we need a new forum logo (or at least a different background to the existing one) if someone who is relatively arty would like to volunteer ?

    Kind regards
