You will have to expand on that statement as it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Just for the record I do not call myself an atheist, (Other might). I simple say that I do not believe in the concept of there being such a thing as a god or gods. Not in my eyes, you will have to be the judge of that yourself. I hope that you all feel free to get this topic back on track.

You might not want a religious debate but other may, and if that's the case they should feel free to do so. Without insulting any ones for their beliefs or non belief. If an atheist "Find God" is he selling out?

Not sure about keeping opinions to ones self, wasn't there a topic recently about that very thing. Although I have no religious faith myself and do not believe in the concept of god, I will defend anyone right to practice their own form of religion to the end. What I will not accept is the ideas of some religious teachings that theirs is the right way and everyone else is wrong. Then using this as justification for the persecution of others. In the past Christians were very good at that, now it seems to be the turn of other.

Would you be doing the cooking? I grow up in a house where you know what day it was by what was on the table. My father, who we now think probable had AS, was very much one for routine, my mother was not far behind him. Even now she finds it hard to comprehend not having a roast dinner on a Sunday, served up at 1pm, no mater what. Cup of coco at 10pm and in bed by 10-30. Even now it feels wrong that I dont stick to the routines I grow up with as a child.

Good point. The distinction between taking part in religious ceremonies (Attending church) and having a fundamental believe in a God or Gods. I was brought up in a tradition of attending church every Sunday and partaking in other religious rights. If I am honest with my self I now realise that it never meant anything to me and I finally abandoned any pretence of having any belief by my mid 20s. When my father died, I know that some of the family found comfort in their religion, to that extent I envy them.

No, but then I had no religious beliefs anyway. I don't realy understand where the question is coming from. Do you mean in the way of feeling let down, the what have I done to deserve this type feeling. Or that the importance of religion in the scheme of thing is diminished. I don't know but I would have thought for some their religious beliefs would become more important to them. People often turn to their church in times of hardship.

I think we have all posted in hast and regretted at leisure. There's been a few times when I have wished there was an unpost button. At times like that I make use of chocolate buttons. Having a diversity of opinions make for good discussion. History repeatedly tell us that imposing ones doctoring on others only leads to disaster.

I would have thought he would enjoy spending the time with just you and not chopping and changing. I know there is a temptation to try and fit a lot in to home visits, but I imagine he will just enjoy being at "Home" with you doing home sort of things. Best of luck.

Nice to hear your boy is enjoying his new school, it was a bit of a slog getting him there, (As i remember) And it enables us as parents to relax a bit (When that are at school) and not be on tenterhooks all the time.

Its hard to believe that we are rapidly approaching the end of the school year. This time last year we had all sorts of concerns about our son moving up to secondary school. Apart from a few hiccups, its been a good year, son has settled into the routine of secondary school. When they go back in June they are moving into the new school building which we have been watching being build over the last 9 months. It is right next door to the old building, most of which will then be demolished. He along with a few others had a sneak preview last week, ahead of the whole form going to have a look around. He is realy looking forward to moving to the new building. His hand writing continues to be a problem, but at least now he does a lot of his homework on his laptop (He a dab hand at cutting and pasting). When they were doing a geography projects on the computers at school he was able to show some of the other children (And the teacher) how to use power point. He has moved up to group 2 in science and maths. I think the only lesson he doesn't like is PE. But the PE teacher says he always tries. Just thought I would post something positive in "Education" as it usually contains negative post.

Science at school has now moved on to human biology. The first thing they are doing is reproduction. Starting at the beginning so to speak. Well he did the birds and bees bit a few years ago and it is well covered in his science books that he is always reading. But it seems that this latest addition to his knowledge has filled in a few gaps. I imagine they have had to go back to basics for the benefit of any less informed kids. So now he come out with little snippets of information, as if it is all new to us as well. "did you know daddy that ----" sort of thing. Last night I was given a talk on how identical twins come about, how the cells divide up after fertilisation and all that.

Well yes but no more than any one of your age, but then that's the view of an old fa-t. When we are young we think we have all the answers, as life goes on you realize there are no simple answers. Just more questions.

There wasn't much scenery to look at on my train journeys I did, London Underground, and not much technology, the Walkman was just about coming onto the market when I stopped commuting by train. And the broadsheets were a right pain. Most of the time you spent trying not to look into the eyes of the person who had their face about 2 inches from yours.

Not mater how the government dresses it up these changes are all to do with saving money. They always highlight the few cases of people how are abusing the system. Playing to the crowd. Why cant they be honest for once and say what it is they are doing. Cutting back on the welfare state.

When I was commuting, I got on the same train with the same people for years and hardly anyone ever said anything to anyone.

Well the classic way is to comment on the weather. Or talk about work or something fairly neutral. Should you? I don't see why not. But don't be to disappointed if you don't get anywhere.

My son, apart from the GP which he last saw 3 years ago, the only new supporting evidence for his DLA claim came from his school. My son has been signed off by the Pediatrician, and sees no other professionals (Out side of school) (His DLA was successfully renewed) My wife, last week had a medical assessment for ESA, it was carried out by a nurse, mainly questions relating to what was already on the form, and a few very basic mobility test. Her condition is now managed by the GP which she see as and when needed, so there is no Consultant input etc in supporting evidence.
