Hi everyone.Hope your all well, I need some help,my son's school have finally agreed with me and have put a report in for him to get statemented(after 5 years or me nagging) I know a few of you have gone through this,i need to put a letter in for a meeting on tuesday. Anybody got any ideas what to put in the letter. My son is due to go to secondary school and i think he realy need's it,i fear they will turn us down as he is going to need alot of support when he move's up.He is already panicing(we went for a visit last week)

Hi keepingmesane, The holiday,i could get �300 towards the cost or �800 if i book through a brouche there going to send me with Thomas cook, as greatful as i am �300 won't go far with 7 of us.She asked me if i needed a washer or a tumble,just got washer but tumble on way out.The biggest suprise was the computer games,which she asked me what my son played with when i said nothing but computers she said that gabes would help,well yes of course . I still can't believe it only tried as my support worker told me to.If you haven't applyed and it will help you,you have got nothing to loose.

Got a phone call from the family fund this morning.I applyed in August for help with a holiday,as this was the first time i applyed i wasn't sure what i was allowed to apply for. The wounderful lady on the phone has give me �800 for holiday,�350 for tumble dryer(mine on way out),�100 cloths and Argos card for �100 for bedding and some more money on card for computer games. . I am in shock and happy.Can't believe how quick it was,i was told there was about 6 month wait. Now i have to decided where to go on holiday .Any ideas lost holiday was a nightmare came home 2 days early.

Reading,i fell into the telly at bed just to get a break.After a while i started to win so he is allowed to read in bed and i must admitt he still has bad nights but i won't give in so he lays in bed,well sits on his head with naked bum in the air ,playing power rangers but he's calm,well calmish.

Hi Hev, <'> <'> Your only human.I lost it once,i punched the wall ,had to go to hospital fractured hand .When i told the nurse what i had done she gave me a funny look i just said it was the wall or my son,don't think she was inpressed. You just get passed it.Life is a constent battle and you get ground down.You are not there punch bag.I know how you feel and the guilt make's you feel worse. I know it's hard but the best thing you can do is walk away.I am alwys sporting bruises. In the end we had to put him on meds(risperdal),it wasn't easy but they did help.Have you though about putting him on meds? MEL

Thank you all for a advice.Whenhe does it i ignore him then when at home i tell him that he can't do that. My support worker called me today,she told me in no other term that it's my fault .Because he started doing it at about 4 years old.I have tried everything.It has took me 9 years for them(doctors) to admitt there was something wrong and now there telling me i'm a bad mother

Hi, We have a problem and i was woundering if anyone has had the same. Kyle has always had a thing for ladies bums ,he will touch mine and my friends bum.I went in school yesterday where my youngest teacher said "thanks for that kyle" when i asked her what he had done she said felt my bum . I mentiond to my support worker last week that i was concerned about his thing for bums,she said not to worry that he will not go to far and egnore it. . What am i going to do he has crossed the line and the teacher thinks it's funny .I have had a talk to her,asking her to tell him off but i don't think it sunk in. Anyone any ideas PLEASE

Kyle hates babies,he call's them IT. I have 3 other kids and partner has 1 that he has custody of,when rhe younger two were babies kyle never looked or bothered with them,now he play's with one of them all the time on the computer. If it wasn't for him kyle would be on his own all the time has he doesn't bother with anyone.

Kyle has a bad obsession with his computer,If he's bared off it my life is hell.Cars are his thing he will bore me for hours telling me everything. He as also started with pokemon and yu-gi-oh trading cards.He has to have them all NOW,if he swops one with this brother we have a kick of cause he never swoped it he pinched it.

Hi Mel, sorry this post is a few days later just decided to stop feeling sorry for my self after a few mad months.I a currently under CAMHS with kyle 10 just got dx for asperger.I no it's a hard and tough proccess and i understand how you are feeling.i don't no weather you have been told to keep a diary of everything that happen's,it does help.We were referred to camhs for family therapy to handle Kyle behaviour, ,i was adviced to keep phoning when thing's were bad.Finally they admitted he was in the spectrum. I don't no if this helps but keep at them,you no when something's not right,your his mum.Keep on at them and you will get there.It is hard but i found the forum gave me the strenth to keep fighting,and now we have full dx.Just hang on in there.

Hi everyone,I am mother of 5,3 boys,2 girls.My 10 year old son(second child) has just been dx with asperger syndrome ,after 9 years trying to convince doctors that there was something wrong. . I won't bore you with it very long story.Although i have been a this forum in the past,while going through dx. The reason for my post is my 14 year old daughter is finding it all a bit hard.Kyle has violent outbursts which he is on Risperdone for.I was woundering if anyone no's of a website for sibling's as she has no one to turn to,her friends don't understand the pressure we are under everyday.I feel guility and helpless .She should be out enjoying life than been scared of what's happening at home.

I agree they are harder work,I have 1 asd son,3 HT kids, I have to be switched on constantly,as we can have a meltdowm anytime.1 minute playing happy on xbox next screaming and attacking other son. He also need's more help doing things,pouring a drink,dressing,cutting food etc.Cause he has low muscle tone he has no co-ordination. It can be a nightmare .But wouldn't be without him

I know there was something wrong with my son from birth,he never slept,head butted everything from 6 mths,everything was a struggle.He was seen by occ therp when he was 5 years,dx lone muscle tone.Still not happy as behaviour got worse my GP ref him to pead,she told me that i need to do a parenting course .After 4 yars of hell with him thing came to a head when he had me by the throat,i was given a number for INCH a support team,it was them who suggested asperger, and sent a letter to CAMHS as we were on the waiting list for family support . The first meeting we had back in october 05,they seemed to agree with asperger,we are now waiting to see how far in the spectrum he his. If you believe that somethings there and you sound as you know what your talking about,you keep at them,keep a record of everything that happens and keep at them you get there.

That's great new's Keep us upto date CAMHS have suggested this for my son

Try ebay,put in autisum and there's plenty of thing to help with all kinds of communication, Hope it helps
