  1. Yep! I'm using Doxepin to get "normal sleep", it's a tricyclic antidepressant with anxiolytic properties and strong sedation, especially in the beginning. In relation to insomnia it really works but I'm still depressive and anxiously. Usual side-Effects in the beginning are: fatigue in the daytime and drowsiness. Otherwise a dry mouth (xerostomia) and a frequently increased appetite (maybe weight gain). I also used Zolpidem and Zopiclone et al. but they are not suitable for a long-term treatment because of possible physical dependency. I suffer from sleep disturbance since many years. Worse luck! 2. Your Aspie score: 176 of 200 Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 24 of 200 You are very likely an Aspie Yes, that's right! Simon Baron-Cohen AQ-Test 48/50 I also think that these tests are most suitable for those who suspect AS, but it's not a valid diagnosis. I guess it is advantageous if someone isn't well-informed so that you are uninfluenced by the diagnostic criteria.
  3. Yes, greasy sun creams are really horrible. I don't like the feeling, too, it itches terribly on my skin. That gives me the creeps and it gets on my nerves. I'm a stay-at-home for a long time, so I'm not very often in the blazing sun. LG Hyperakusis
  4. Thank you for the welcome! Ich muss sagen dein Deutsch ist auch gut, ich habe auch alles verstanden. Wirklich gut! "Perfektheit" - I must admit that also germans make similar mistakes. I also was not really sure if this word exists, but "Perfektion" is correct in any case. There are three books translated into German. They are viewed as the best books about AS. I already have given two autism-documentaries (DVD) to my parents... hmmm I think it is a matter of time untill they will understand. LG Hyperakusis
  5. Hallo everybody! I'm Hyperakusis from Germany. I'm 36 years old and I was diagnosed with the Asperger-Syndrome in 2007 after a lot of wrong diagnoses. In retrospect all diagnoses were illogical because I already conjectured to be different when I was about 4 , 5 years old. AS ist still quite unknown in my town, in fact in my country... In any case I was relieved when this kind of being was described as AS. Now I could find answers for a thousand of questions. Somehow it is difficult to explain to my parents, sister and the other ones... maybe it's a matter of time and they will understand!??! I left school 20 years ago therefore my english is quite bad... ... I'm sure there are already a lot of embarassing mistakes in this posting... hope you don't mind?!?! Greetings from Germany, Hyperakusis
