Isn't it amazing how people can walk into your life and after just 5 minutes think they know the answer to everything!!! We get all sorts of 'helpful' advice. What's harder for me I think, is that before I had an ASD child, I probably would have been the same - so I feel red hot anger, followed later by a flush of shame!!

I'd say <'> Welcome <'> ..... .....and I'd say you sound interesting! I am always heaving a sigh inside whenever I go to a 'get together' because 98 per cent of what most people come out with at social gatherings (especially family ones) is utter tedium! (Me included!) It's not that I think I know better or anything, I just cant 'connect' to conversations about the price of houses, or what colour wedding dress Jordan has, etc, etc. If someone asks my opinion I find it impossible not to tell the truth....this means I always end up standing by myself eventually!!! so you sound just my cup of tea

My little one hasnt started school yet and so far its pretty difficult to decide which way to go. The local mainstream has made me feel a little unwelcome at the outset, but I also have some mainstream schools with SEN Units and dedicated special school within a reasonable(ish!) driving distance. I dont think I've got enough energy for home schooling! What option have you taken and is it working out ok? I'd like to get a general feel of your experience. Thanks in advance
