My aged 9 son is the same and am in the process of thinking of moving him schools again due to a similiar situation. Why wasn't there someone out there to replace the person off sick I do hope you are able to get some sense out of them on Tuesday <'>

Aww bless him
-
<'> No I don't think you are being unreasonable at all <'> Is there any way that you could learn to drive? I know it wont solve things but maybe could make the situation a little easier.

Awww bless - sounds just like mine.

Had letter from LEA about having to assess Luke

Don't suppose for one minute they said how long they expect that to take either. -
My thoughts exactly Helen. It would be a real shame if Luke was just too ill to go to school that day wouldn't it. Hope he is ok and not getting too anxious about it all...disgusting how much pressure they put on kids.

Sorry don't really have answers but sounds like a few <'> <'> <'> <'> <'> were needed. Good luck

Hi welcome to the forum

Thank you. I do find I tend to come here whilst he's at school and things are somewhat calmer lol. How are you?
-
Hope they listened to you this morning and are going to act rather than just talk.

Hope it all gets sorted in the end for you Helen <'> -
She said she's going to get back onto the school. Explained to me how hard it was for the teacher in such a big class - and my son is not as much as a priority as some of the others (said very tactfully)....but that the school needed to do something before his self-esteem gets too low. She's going to make sure they do the social stories/social skills training with him....sounds hopefully but just seems so very slow moving. Thanks for the continued support on this.

I just saw the repeat - omg how disgusting!

My son is also year 4. They are helping him by making breaks more structured, he has an MDSA buddy who he can talk to if he feels stressed or the others are being unfair, and is supposed to be getting social stories/social skills training to help him learn how he is meant to cope in certain situations. Not letting him play is just going to make his situation worse and lower his self esteem in my opinion. Good luck with it.

L went back to school Tuesday and had to come out early Wednesday to see the paed...by this point his new trousers had a great big hole in them....by Friday he has had one of his laces stolen and Saturday we had a "target" slip saying he's been rude and not following instructions! grrr schools.

Hi and welcome. Obviously from that short post I couldn't say either way BUT it does sound exactly what happened with me too. My son was assessed at 2 and got the all clear and now at 9 it seems he is going to be getting a dx of it. Yours sounds very much like mine too. Have the school said anything? have you seen a paed or doctor?

I think it's good that he is asking to go out - and is still able to be in view. L is 9 and wont go out unless we are with him. Glad yours is making friends well
