  1. Thank you, saw the CP and we were there ages. I brought will be all the paper work I had had from all the different agencies and I also wrote a bullet point list of Jasmines unusual behaviours and medication history from birth. The lady was great and read ALL the information I had brought along, I felt like crying, someone was starting to believe me. She spent ages talking to us and said she is going to get a specialist SALT to see Jasmine, one that looks at it all from an ASD perpective. Then we should get a DX of some sort in 4 months. I found it such a relief and so glad I did those bullet points, it's so hard to explain every little thing when your on the spot. x s
  2. Oh yes your list and more, I call him a cross between Victor Meldrew and Mr Bean. He mainly buries his head in his laptop, he's not motivated to do anything in the house, unless I make the added effort to go mental at him. He wont wear a hearing aid. I had a major go at him last night, through my tears I told him he was not able to help Jasmine because he had not researched enough, so don't expect her to want to be with you, you don't understand her. WELL shock horror he's taken the day off work to come with me to see the CP. Also, my hubby is very into security like to be protected we have 2 rottweillers and many other things.... I think we should be email pals, we seem to have a lot in common, don't suppose you live down south?
  3. Hi Lindy, my husband doesn't drive either, he's just going off on one now because he wants to go out and I don't want to drive him. High blood pressure definately affects my husbands mood, and you will notice a difference once he take tablets for that. He might well have Aspergers, does he talk about him, himself and him all the time? There are some online tests he could do for it, though I'd wait until you get the blood pressure sorted out, it's like treading on egg shells isn't it. They sound like 2 peas in a pod, lol. x
  4. Hi, my husband was the same showing no empathy for Jasmine and referring to his updragging and school. I made him take an adult asperger test on the net and yes he has it. After he started to learn about the symptoms it all started ticking boxes, and instead of having a go at my daughter, he realised he was the best person to help her. My husbands does not do small talk and hates me repeating myself to him. What you said just sounded like my husband a couple of years ago. Most of the time though he's a miserable person, depressed and anxious, difficult to live with. He had high blood pressure and this made him really grumpy, so glad he's on tablets now. I know what your going through it's so upsetting having to deal with your son and learn to understand how he ticks, when your husband sends conflicting message. Poor you and BIG HUG x x
  5. Hi, yes it does seem to fit, if Jasmine is diagnosed I am going to do everything I can to get her out of that school. Even on the long walk home Jasmine gets teased right infront of me. Girls will say hello to her and Jasmine now thinks everyone is taking the micky out of her. She was determined that her and her bully had made friends, not the case, I told her to say hello to her so I could gauge the response and let her know. She said hello and P body language and response was not friendly. Have tried to speak to her teacher for 2 days now, to no joy, will be seeing the head soon if this keeps up. Apparently P is dragging her to the toilets, she's a real nightmare this girl.
  6. Hi , J age 10 has been ill every night since she started school. I used to let her have the day off, only to find she was happy and well during the day off. Now I send her to school with whatever ailments she has, which include, crackling ears, blindness, dizzy, headache / migraine, feeling sick, feeling itchy, constipation the list goes on... After 6 months she has stopped complaining everyday, and only complains on the days she has PE or we have to go on a car journey..... This is infact one of her obsessions I think... I must say she had me over for 5 years... Clever girl!! I hope I don't sound like a horrid mother or to make light of your childs pain, and I hope that your child gets well soon..
  7. Sorry didn't read this was, posted a reply to your other. You need to get someone, Paed mainly to refer to Clinical Phys you really need that referral, Paed don't have much training in AS, deal with the whole lot of illnesses etc. Feeling so sorry for you what a nightmare, I'm going through it myself and it just makes me want to cry... BIG HUG x S
  8. Hi, I am of the opinion that the Pedeatrcian does not usually do the diagnosis. My daughter 10 has seen one numerous times, they were looking at genetic issues as she has a duplex kidney, complete red herring. After 5 years of hospital appointments and her with depression, we have finally got to see the consultant in Poole. In our area the clinic sends a AS form to the school and the parents to fill in. Once done they are then sent to the clinical physcologist and an appointment is made, there is a waiting list here of 18 weeks. The best person I think to get on side is the educational psycologist, the school have always seemed to have their own agenda in my opinion, but always be nice to the school, if they get upset with you they have so much power to make life difficult, . Jas has no friends, is bullied and teased every day. I so can't wait until next week <'> and I hope you find the results your looking for, be patient and keep on at them, go back to GP and try to get to see Paedeatrician again and just ask to see the clinical phsy (sorry spelling - long words ahh). When I saw the P last time she told me that everyone was on the autism spectrum and flung her arms in the air, ummm, about as positive as your appt, but keep going...
  9. Hi I'm new to this forum and have been struggling with my daughter now since day 1. She has Dyspraxia and I think she has Aspergers, after extensive hours of research on the net. She is really struggling with mainstream school and the teachers do not help her and will not until diagnosis. We've gone through loads of red herrings with geneticists etc. She has a duplex kidney which was the main reason for that. I have the appointment I've been waiting for coming up next week for Jasmine to see the consultant after the school and I have filled in all the forms. Any advice for how to prepare for this appointment and information on what happens next would be most welcome. I have written extensive details about Jasmine which I have given to professionals, I don't think they have had the time to read them. I'm seriously thinking of taking her out of this school. Martian in the playground, read the book and it's so Jasmine. I so want to get it right for her....
