has anyone elses child been prescribed risperidone? my son was prescribed it on tues by his psychiatrist for his depression, anxiety and aggression (he is 12). he has taken it for 2 nights and was up at 3 this morning wide awake, feeling sick and headache. ive rung the psychiatrist and been told the initial side effects will wear off.

hi everyone, i disappeared off this site for a while as things seemed to be going ok, now i seem to be having loads of problems with my son and could probably do with some help and advice x

i agree about the contact issue, last year social services through the court stopped any overnight contact and stated one day a month, we're back in court in dec to look at reinstating overnight contact and this worries me x

this week has been a terrible week for my son, his behaviour has been a nightmare both at home and a school, today hes hit a boy in his class with the spine of a book and cut him just below his eye, when he was told off by teacher he said hes going to harm himself and teacher shouldnt expect him in school on mon (teacher training tomorrow) because he'll be dead. all this behaviour has started after contact with their dad on sat, hes only allowed to see them one day a month (long story) each time they see him this is how it affects my son. im pretty much at the end of my tether as this is affecting my daughter as well. should i take my son to the doctor? his teacher was really concerned and so am i x

my son was referred in dec last year by ed psych and got diagnosis last monday xx

hi thanks for your reply, i feel i have so many questions, my son was diagnosed and i was just given a leaflet and more or less left to get on with it. xx

hi everyone, im claire, single mum to two cildren, just recently divorced, my 9 year old son was diagnosed with high functioning asd last monday, i kind of suspected it as my 34 year old brother has aspergers so ive grown up with it.
