I love patterns, symmetry and proportion, rhythm, melody and structure. Music is my saving grace. I find it such a huge relief to perform because when I do, I am the same as everyone else, and there are no interruptions or surprises. I like that with music there is something to pin my thoughts to.

I also love to paint, decorate cakes, customise furniture and sew.

I'm 28 and just coming round to the idea that I might have AS. I've always felt like I've spent far too much time trying to figure out what my next move should be in social situations and I've always seen socialising as an exhausting maze where the other person seems to have a map that I don't have (and usually a ladder to see over the hedges too!). I took the AQ test and scored 36 (as opposed to my partner, who scored 4), and now that I'm looking into it, I'm relieved that this is perhaps the reason I've always felt different.

On the up-side, I suppose good traits I have which might be attributable to AS are that I'm loyal, honest (ok, sometimes this can also be a disadvantage!), I have an enquiring mind and a strong sense of fairplay.
