  1. Grace thank you for your reply -short & sweet :-)) kind regards
  2. Hi Kazzen Blesses Hugh Faringdon caters for ASD children in many ways BUT for me it is definitely NOT a choice :-)
  3. My daughter (in year 4) will be transfered in a few years into secondary but as you probably know I have to go visit secondary schools to find out for myself which one would be best suited ... Found few but this one stands out ... Situation at present is : my daughter is attending mainstream primary and she is academic(currently 3B)altough newer results of the test to come. Her daily reports from the school(her TA) say behaviourwise very good and achieving ... My question is : Will LEA continue to provide support for her if she was to transfer to indepenedent school ? ( **** Primary School in Reading). Another option is to transfer her earlier e.g. next year or year 6 altough dont see major advantage by doing so .... Would welcome answers espec. from people who experienced similar or just have knowledge about this ... many thanks & kind regards to you all Thanks for taking time and reading this :-))
  4. One more question for you folks: What do you think are STRONG and IMPORTANT educational reasons for transfer of the child with special needsin KS2 (from one primary to another) ? Such reasons which would make LEA aware that transfer is very much needed...? Especially as current one is "not doing much" even after having numerous meetings, conversations, suggestions ? I know I will start with benefits of the new school which outweigh all what is not being done in current school BUT still would welcome your views. thanks x
  5. Would like to say HUGE thank you for your kind message/advice regarding my Q.

Im taking this up with professionals too:-)

  6. Hello everyone and Happy New Year to you:-) Im so glad I found this forum and hope you can spare a few moments to read this and perhaps advice. I have daughter who has been recently statemented and is in KS2 in her current(mainstream) school. However I want her to leave that school and so does she for many reasons but main one is the new school(mainstream again) I want her to go to (lets call it NS). When I was replying to statement I did point out i want her to be transferres to that school (NS). This has been rejected but the new school reasons are not quite good reasons and no longer relevant. In other words my daughter behaviour improved for better and she needs "station" which NS claims cant afford (but in reality it doesn`t cost much !!!)....current school says they dont even know what it looks like .... So I wanted my child statement to be finalised I agreed for the current school to be named on the statement,as I got phone call of case worker that they need to name the school so they can finalise the statement. My Q is can I appeal against rejection and go to tribunal ? Some people say I cant ,some say yes ..They all have their reasons BUT I would like to hear from someone who experienced this espec.if you sucseeded. Or do you think that local authority will try to come to som sort of agreement or perhaps even overturn previous decision as I have valid proof they should take her ? All your experiences or opinions would be appreciated.
