  1. to be honest..ive read so much info on so many of these conditions i dont know where to start! they all sort of intermingle with each other..were still waiting on the school to send in the connors forms to camhs..im still getting onto them daily..im hoping that we will hear something very soon.
  2. hi i did ask him and he said he wasnt thinking...it was a definate cry for help..he hasnt been diagnosed..i dont know how long that will take...but im pushing our services all of the time ..i ring almost everyday but im going to see another therapist privately to see if i can get a quicker diagnosis done for him.its the bullying thats hurting me ..knowing im having to send him in for his 7 hours of mental torture or i will be fined by the lovely welfare officers..who in my book dont give two hoots..after the self harm we sent for our gp..she talked us through why he did it as ghe told her everything..i agree with you about asd and dys..i think its a combination of the two now i just have to get him sorted..its his 16th bday tomorrow and were taking him out for a meal..trying to make him smile as much as we can...bless him ..breaks my heart..
  3. hi my doc who my son saw originally 3 weeks ago said he had the symptoms of add..and ocd. so i thought "ok" well lets see where we go from here... then she asked about his self harming..well he did it at my bro in laws house he ate a toilet block..and it made hm so sick then actually made himself sick by putting his fingers down his throat..his depression has been slowly developing over the last few months.but is getting worse.he hasnt had any suicidal thoughts.hes struggling to cope with school as he knows hes "different"...at school hes constantly bullied because of his stammer..and he says and does things that are out of the ordinary..i think he does have symptoms of add..but not adhd as hes not hyper in anyway he just wants to do nothing.. the first gp said if he didnt lift in mood by time he has his depression review(which weve just had) that she would put him on meds..but heres where the sting comes in.this doc is now on maternity leave...so we saw another doc whos stated that weve now got to wait for camhs to get involved..and she wouldnt give him anything to help him sleep as hes always slept walked since 5 years old but never this bad...so im thinking of getting him some calms or quiet life as this helps me with my pms! heres his symptoms...see what you guys think! immature behavoiur extremes of emotions lack of awareness danger poor exercise tolerance(never done pe at school) a loner no friends.. very poor handwriting(since he first could write) poor development skills loses things poor short temr memory dont know left from right obsessive behaviour cant catch a ball he cant complete homework tasks forgets names. compulsive lying. argumentative now the private psych said he needs a multi disciplinary assessment? you see why i think its dyspraxia...

    hi

hi ive got a 15 year old hes 16 on monday..hes at high school on a school action ..and i.e.p. plan.. he was cought self harming 3 weeks ago..after spending a few days away..hes been an upset young man for a while hes being constantly bullied at school for being DIFFERENT.... ummm we took him to our gp and shes suggested that hes got a.d.d. or adhd ..we went to camhs and theyve said its a very long wait to do anything for him and they suggesed that we go privately to get a diagnosis..so weve been to see a psychotherapist.she was very good she read what i had which were all of my sons previous school reports..who have always said that hes got terrible handwriting and that hes always fidgeting and wont focus and cant concentrate in class..we had him checked whilst in primary school for dyspraxia...by a woman who saw him for 15 mins then left without saying whether he did or didnt have this condition...so we were left in limbo..so now he still has all of the symptoms for dyspraxia..and after speaking to the pstch shes also said shes 99% sure he has that along with ocd..as he does alot of thing that are a ritual for him. but were still no further forwards...does anyone have any ideas ...he knows hes different....he cries often so we think hes depressed so weve put him on calms..to see if it helps and also he sleep walks arund 4 times a night..so hes getting less sleep...
