  1. I have never stopped my boys stimming. My youngest, L does the job lot! hand flapping, jumping up and down, rubbing his hands together, facial grimices and now chews everything in sight! It does'nt bother me, i even join in with him sometimes! The eldest humms, finger flicks and does other "different" things with his hands, we do say " T" (his name) to him now as he's 15 now just to let him know, but he did'nt start to do it until he was around 13. I personally dont think we should stop are children stimming, but thats my opinon. x
  2. Thanks to all of you them chewy tubes sound like a good idea, does anyone know where you get them from? like the rest of you i'm more bothered about the other things he chews which he can choke on but im also worried about when hes at school like i said, once his shirt is wet he has to take it off there and then. Thanks again everyone x
  3. My 4 1/2 yr old asd son wont stop chewing, he chews everything! clothes, wires, fingers you name ! but when he has totally chewed his t-shirt he has to take it off, we go through about 5/6 a day but he starts full time school in sep and hes not going to be able to change all the time or walk around half naked! if anyone has any ideas i would be more than greatful soni, mum of 4 1/2 yr asd,9 yr adhd and two nt teenagers.
  4. never heard of Autistic pride day? can you tell me about it? (mum of 4and a half yr old asd boy,9 yr adhd boy and two nt boys)
  5. my son is what the dr's say "active but odd". I dont think i would want him to be any different , life would not be the same if he was not apart of this lovely spectrum! Dont get me wrong there are many days i feel like im but he was born with an asd for a reason (which i have yet to find out) He's just perfect the way he is.

    What should i know ?

thank's to all , it seems as though i was worring over nothing. The school was really supportive they are willing to provide me with a timetable before my son starts, pictures of the staff and the classrooms and they are going to bring him into school slowly a few hours a day and build it up. i cant say any wrong about the meeting, they seem very understanding. lets hope they keep the communication going! again thanx. soni xx
