  1. I'm not too sure really, i think its too early to tell. From all the help i've been told i can recieve, i feel like i can start taking steps in the right direction to get my life back on track. I just have to go to the GP to get the ball rolling. But i've gotta wait 'til monday before i can even set up an appointment (they're not accepting appointments in advance for some reason)
  2. Thanks for the reply guise. Went for my appointment and that on wednesday. It was quite a good process really. The day started with a brief wait (cause someone had knocked the phoneline so they didn't know i was here.) After that i was seen by a team of specialists. I had brought my family with me so they split me away from my family to ask us some questions. The questions took about two and a bit hours, and was very well structured. They covered traits of Asperger's Syndrome, and they also covered Depression, Anxiety, OCD and ADHD on top of that. They also looked for Agoraphobia as well. After that, we had a break. Then we got to see the team leader briefly while she asked us a few more questions and allowed us to speak freely. Then we had a short break. After that was a blood test, and then we went back in to hear the diagnosis. I did get diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, as well as depression, Agoraphobia, and Anxiety. Then they ran me through the best course of treatment for me, which is gonna be Cognitive behavoural therapy. We decided that i should do it locally, 'cause of the shorter waiting lists. I also opted in for Neuropshychological tests. So yeah, wasn't as scary as i thought it'd be, and for anyone else thats going, theres no need to fear!
  3. I hope i've put this in the right forum, but yeah. Basically, i'm off to the Maudsley behaviour and genetics clinic in a couple of days. I'm going there to be tested for Asperger's syndrome. I'm not sure what to expect as i can find very limited information on it, and only a couple of case studies. I have a leaflet with a very brief summary of what'll be asked, but it says the appointment could take several hours, or maybe all day. So has anyone been to Maudsley for this reason? And if you have, what went on during your appointment?
