  1. I have an appointment for dx - which is a positive

  2. Hi all, It's taken nearly a year, but I got a letter today saying that I have an initial diagnosis appointment at the end of June However, the letter suggests that it would be useful if a parent or older sibling comes along to this (although it is not required). I have never been able to bring up that I suspect I am on the spectrum to my family, and I think it would be weird having them at the meeting. I'm not sure I want to share what's inside my head with my family. Has anyone here had a diagnosis meeting without bringing family/partner with them, or if they were there did they actually contribute much? I have read a few posts suggesting that the person receiving the diagnosis didn't think the family's inputs counted for much. Thanks for any views on this. D
  3. I think I'm in a similar position to the OP, so thanks to everyone for their comments, they've helped me as well. Perhaps I should just stop procrastinating and make an appointment with my GP, and at least make a start towards Dx. Regarding what to say to a GP, there is some information on the NAS website; and perhaps it is enough for a busy GP, but I don't know if it's enough…
  4. Wonder how long a 35 pass secure erase is going to take on my old imac g5… 500gb drive, any guesses?

  5. That’s more like it @VirginTrains, 3mins early, rather than 7 hours late!

  6. Hopefully this journey on the #WCML will be at least 7 hours quicker than the last.

  7. That is sickening! RT @ImmortalTech Since 2003, The U.S. spent $980 billion in Iraq, enough to wipe out world poverty for 10 years.

  8. Now back on a train detouring slowly via settle&carlisle line…

  9. Last RT appropriate, as currently standing is massive queue at Carlisle awaiting replacement bus as WCML blocked. No guidance from #virgin

  10. Obviously the #bettertogether campaign is making a case against Scottish independence, it wouldn’t be much of a debate otherwise.

  11. I just signed @38_degrees petition calling on Cameron to introduce proper laws on tax dodging. Please join in: http://t.co/Ifr98lDZ

  12. Green Green @ Glasgow Green http://t.co/NAwD7eSY

  13. Greggs on Argyle st under station apparently they don’t sell bridies! WTF?! Had to go to other shop round the corner #firstworldproblems

  14. RT @RichardWiseman: “Worlds most inappropriate sign? http://t.co/er4plnNb (via @Twinsfan33)”. But I did what it says on the sign.

  15. Hullo Darkshine, I understand that you don't want to say (or even imply) what conditions people may or may not have, especially after 1 post on an internet forum. I wasn't trying to ask if I have/am ASD, but maybe it came across that way. Hi also to Linnet & indiscreet. Good at least to know it's not /just/ me, but I suppose we can never know what "normal" is, as we are all individual. Plus, who wants to be average anyway. I've started reading "The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome" by Tony Attwood, as I saw it recommended in another thread. Maybe that will help, or perhaps it will just lead to more questions, as tends to happen when you start turning over stones. D
