  1. great news and well done <'> <'> <'>
  2. Hi Karen, This man didn't suggested one but the Ed Centre have now said an 'interim tuition meeting' will be arranged sometime during the autumn term. We are also going to look around a nearby NAS school on the 20th July with our PP officer.
  3. Thanks Ultramum for all your replies. The Ed. Centre my DS attends, wants help for both him and themselves as DS is frustrating them because of his difficult non compliant behaviour, yet this man thinks everything is fine he is even using my sons difficulties as the reason why no transitional plans were discussed or mentioned, as discussing his problems had took too long!. DS is dx with ASD and now PDA.
  4. Great news, Congratulations
  5. Does anyone know how long a statement review meeting should officially last? My DS is in Year 10 but has never had a transitional meeting ! how important is this meeting? I am asking these questions as I'm trying to reply to a letter I received today from our local community Director.
  6. Hi, my DS couldn't cope with pressures at his PRU and he was given a sick note from our GP which keeps him off till the end of term. I just sent the sick note into the unit and there hasn't been any problems.
  7. great news about the school, I'm really pleased for you
  8. Hi Ultramum, thank you for your info, I found us and I agree with you I don't recognise the provision either.
  9. sending you Good Luck vibes for the visit and I hope it all goes well. <'> <'> <'> <'>
  10. Thank you both for replying. I phoned the school and they have said they do take pupils in year 11 if they have suitable places for them and if they are likely to access the 16+ provision The LEA want Nat to stay at the PRU (specialist provision for children who cannot go to school) but since he started his GCSE's, he has found it more and more stressful and says he cannot cope there anymore. After the recent annual review meeting the LEA refuses to ammend his statement despite the Senior teacher saying she feels they cannot meet his needs! also one particular teacher has really made his attendance there a very unhappy experience as she is not very supportive and now Nat doesn't want to be anywhere near her, so doesn't want to go anymore. Recently the Clinical Psych dx Nat as having PDA but I'm told by the LEA that the local Autism specialist does not recognise PDA so basically it's not valid. I have spoken with the NAS who told me they do recognise PDA as a valid dx but when I told the SEN Officer this, she said they may well do but the Dr. doesn't. Nat attends the unit 2 days a week at present and the LEA officer says ASD kids don't like being in education and that I have to be realistic and realise that this is all Nat can cope with 'Yet' I have been informed by a CAHMS officer that they will be upping his attendance to 4 days instead of 2 in September (she has now left CAHMS to become the ED Psych!) I feel very angry as all I have ever wanted is a suitable education that Nat can access.
  11. Does anyone know if there is a cut off age when specialist school provision is not a viable option? The Specialist School I am thinking of going to see on the 20th July has a post 16 unit but is out of my area although only 15 mins away. Today I had a phone call from the Senior SEN officer who said that the school in question has not taken any pupils who were in year 10, since she has been in her post! I just wondered if anyone has any information that might help me?
  12. Mine wasn't on the list either so I have sent the email to remind them.
