  1. No to be honest I don't think you need to, I certainly wont be watching it again. I totally agree with what you're saying, it does come across as if the viewer is supposed to laugh at not with Raymond
  2. Hi The other day I watched the film Rain Man for the first time. I tried to watch it with a neutral view and then tell my friend I was watching it with any thoughts I had afterwards. I have to say I had mixed feelings about it. Anyone else seen it? What are your thoughts?

    Hello Everyone

Hi I haven't read all of The Complete Guide to Aspergers Syndrome but I do keep dipping into it from time to time. I try and read a particular section at a time if its relevant to something that has happened. Its quite a lengthy book but a very good read all the same. I'd definitely recommend it
  4. Hi Its good to know other people are experiencing it too. It seems like you're having a very frustrating time on your course. My old supervisor at work sounds like your tutor, in that she came across at first as if she understood but then soon after it became clear she didn't really have a clue. At least you know the work you're doing is of high quality
  5. Hi Thomas I'm Chris and I'm 26 I was diagnosed with Aspergers about a year and a half ago and to be honest I'm still trying to accept and understand it. All the things you mentioned, eye contact, communication and anxiety are quite major difficulties for me too so I can understand what it must be like for you and how you feel. I work at Morrisons on the deli counter so eye contact and communication are very important. Fortunately I have an understanding manager and he takes into account my difficulties. I have recently had a number of Counselling sessions which I found very useful. Until I started the sessions I wasn't sure if it would work as counselling isn't for everyone but I was really surprised. As hard as this might be, try not to feel alone, theres plenty of help and support and people who you can talk to Hope this helps

    New here

Hi Jordan Ive just joined this site and was diagnosed with Aspergers about a year and a half ago. Hope you don't mind me asking but how come you was diagnosed twice? What happened for you to need a re-diagnosis?
  7. Hi, i'm Chris, i'm 26, from Bradford, West Yorkshire I was diagnosed with Aspergers about a year and a half ago and to be honest I've been trying to accept and understand it ever since. While watching a tv programme last year, someone said "change what you can, accept what u can't". I haven't forgotten this since hearing it and although it's hard to accept, over time I've realised its not something I can change. This is the first time ive talked online about it but thought it would help by joining this site so I can communicate with people who actually understand and know where I'm coming from. Since I was diagnosed, I've come to realise how big a difference there is between being aware of something and understanding it. I have come across so many people who have been made aware of the fact I have Aspergers and they automatically think they understand it but its so obvious to me that they don't understand at all. Naturally this can become very frustrating especially when I find it difficult to explain to people to start with. Anyone else found this or similar?
