  1. what on earth do they insist on clear ones for, do they think the kids will smuggle in a gun with their library book? good grief

  6. aww ty witzend - aww i feel for your son losing his money like that. i just bought a coat from e bay its still got the tags on it and only cost 8 with p and p, i wont mind so much if he inevitably loses that one. His senco said he could keep his coat in her room but it is on the top floor, which means he has to run up two flights of stairs to put his coat there and then get to his lesson which is accross the playground!!!!!!!!!!! gawd help us! <'>
  7. yes i agree with you, my son only gives one word answers anyhow, and i think i talk to him cos it makes me feel better, but he couldnt care less. it hurts i know, but he talks to me when he wants to usually about star wars but hey ho its better than nothing!!
  8. god i was in your position last year, and am going there again next year!!!!!!! I felt sick for the whole of the school hols cos i knew time was getting short. Its the only school hols ive not wanted to get over and done with quickly. Tom had a hard time for the first few months, it took a lot of work from us and the school to get him settled, but he is ready for his yr8 in september now. He found it hard getting from class to class with all his stuff plus coats and pe kits too, but he's done it, and hes doing very well. all i can say is keep the lines of communication open at all times and never feel as if u cant phone them even for a small thing. Good Luck !
  9. oh bless you, congratulations. he sounds very cute!!!!
  10. my daughter was exactly the same, she would crouch down in shopa sweat and cross her legs so she wouldnt poo, it drove us insane!!!!! then when she had to go it hurt cos she,d hung on so ong, so it was a vicious circle!! that was when she was about 5 and now shes a toilet pooer like everyone else. It will come in time im sure, but i know how frustrating it is believe me
  11. my son is nagging me to get starwars clone wars for the ps2, i cant get the thing anywhere. I think its about 3 years old, ive trawled the game shops, been on amazon and e bay and cant find it at all. Does anyone know where i cd get a copy or has anyone got one they dont want anymore. Let me know and save me from this awful constant naggin child!!!!!!!!!!
  12. ooh im so frustrated. I have to buy my son a new coat to start the new term. not unusual you might think, but hes lost two winter coats at school so far, hes only been there a year. the first one he lost in the fortnight he started year 7, he found it three months later - then lost it again the next week. the other one has been lost for months. He has also lost a full pe kit and bag, three hats, a jumper and a pair of jogging bottoms. I have rung the school numerous times, visited to tell them about the problem but to no avail. they send him to look for them on his own - durr!!!. he puts his head round the door cant see them and goes out again. Or they show him a pile of blue coats in lost property and he cant remember what his cotat looks like! give me strength, were not bottomless pits in the money department, wonder if theyd give us a grant for a new coat - doubt it!
  13. well, so far my aspie (tom) has shown no interest in it at all, while my non aspie (ellie) loves it - go figure!

  18. oh love him. my son loves football, but hes not aggressive enough to play according to the manager of the local boys team. well if u have to spit swear and fight like most of them do, them im glad he isnt!
  19. I know what u mean, there isnt a pernt in the land who dosent feel that way. well, maybe there are a few who couldnt care less! It sounds like a fabulous place, wish my son had something like that he has to go to mainstream secondary and he hates it! hope all is well
  20. I recently bought a book called the blue bottle mystery - it is a book written specially for children with aspergers. there are quite a few titles. they are published by jessica kingsley publishers. http://www.jkp.com/ there might be something to interest your children there. There are also a lot of info books about aspergers, adhd, autism etc.
