  1. so how are all the insomniacs tonight (think I spelt it right)! ? biker69
  2. Hi Sandyn sounds like you know where we are at. I know about the sitting on the stairs in tears too . Glad to hear that you have got through the sleepless times in one piece. I would try the syrup melatonin but I know he wouldn't take it. The other thing that makes the sleepless nights bad is that he gets so aggressive and loud, which isn't so good when you're stuck between two neighbours, dread to think what they are thinking . Anyway thanks for the reply, it helps to know others understand where we are at Biker69
  3. Hi Sooze2 glad to hear your sons sleep habits are better. Thats typical the medication helps with one thing and causes problems with the other. Our son has been a problem sleeper since birth but lately it has got so much worse. He says he is afraid to sleep in case he doesnt wake up:. We did try melatonin but he has a fear of taking medication so that put a stop to that . And we have been to CAHMS but they haven't been very helpful. So I guess I will keep a stock of matches to keep my eyes open Biker69
  4. Hi Jonathan really pleased for you all, it must feel good to have him feeling calmer. My son also has aspergers and ocd and we tried alternative therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique, we found it to be good but after only two sessions our son decided he didn't want to continue, but now he is saying he would like to try again. She said the same about the negative energy, its very interesting isn't it? Are you going for any more sessions or don't you need to, the person we saw said it was like peeling an onion and the more sessions you have the deeper you get. Biker69
  5. Hi Sooze2 I'm getting used to it now, it's been going on for weeks and months and so long I can't remember proper sleep . I try to get him up early, then he moans he is tired, I wonder why? if there is a sleep phobia he has it. Anyway how is your Son getting on with his sleep? Biker69
  6. 2.25 am here and still not sleepy , my son that is, not me I could sleep for a week
  7. Hi mookamoo no it isn't, so I guess there must be a few doing a standard letter, probably all the lazy arses that choose to vote in what they want and anything else that don't gain them anything they forget. So i guess the answer is no they won't be attending, we shall just have to keep bugging them
  8. Thanks thats interesting to see. I emailed my mp and although I have received a letter telling me all about how Angela Browning has worked tirelessly on this bill, there was no commitment to vote on his behalf, ###### . So I shall keep hassling him for a real answer biker69
  9. Hi Bikemad sorry for you and your lad, these kids are complete ######! How did he get on yesterday and did you speak to the police? biker69
  10. Hi Diane I know how you feel, you could be describing our Son he also doesn't need to sleep and for I can't remember how many weeks now we have been awake till 3.30 in the morning and then he doesn't understand why I don't want to get up at 6.00 . like your son he won't take any medication so melatonin is no good and we went through the refusal to eat most of last year, he lost loads of weight our GP prescribed him with a drink called Fortisip, its like a milkshake but full of everything that they are lacking in, it might be worth asking your GP about it. Sorry I don't have any advice regards the sleep but try not to panic too much I know easier said than done biker69
  11. anyone listening to radio 2 at the moment talking about home educating
  12. Hi Marion We took our Son out two years ago for exactly the same reasons as you and although he still has anxiety problems it has taken a lot of pressure off of him and my only regret is that we didn't take him out sooner! Good luck hope it goes well
  13. Gothschild pleased to hear it's going well for him and you, hope it stays that way biker69
  14. bikemad really sorry for your son and you. It's ###### horrible what shitheads these other kids are, the trouble is it happens all too often and the so called adults in charge are no better than the kids who are doing this. I know how you feel, like you say its heartbreaking when they keep getting hassle like this. Perhaps having a word with the brats involved or the mother on the lines of 'Give my son any more hassle and you will get like for like off me' it worked for us
  15. Hello and thanks to everyone who replied . I took our son to gp the other day and he has prescribed Fortisip, its like a milkshake, anyway he didn't feel a dietician would be helpful to us as they emphasise healthy eating too much and that isn't the issue here. Our lad is starting to get a bit more down him now, still not loads but he is trying so thats great . Biker69
  16. Thanks Flora Well a fear is a fear whether it be balloons or something bigger, all I need to do is find a hyponotist who knows how to work with asd children
  17. Just wondering if anyone has tried hypnosis to help with anxiety. Our son is going through so much anxiety and stress at the moment and we have been thinking of trying it but obviously don't want any old person claiming to be a hypnotist we want to find someone who has dealt with asd children, so if anyone has tried this themselves would be interested to hear how you got on, thanks
  18. Thanks JsMum It sounds like you have really been through it with J, what a worry for you. Was he always like that or did it just suddenly start? That is pretty good that he is trying all those different foods now. I have been keeping a diary of what he eats for about a week now it's not good, mainly choc spread sandwiches and bits of quorn burgers, nothing like the amount he should eat. I have tried making food from scratch , we made a trifle tonight but still no good. I am going to make appointment with GP tomorrow I know he will refer us but I suppose it will be a long waiting list for a dietition and do you think they will take it seriously at this stage or think we are over reacting?
  19. Hi Nobbynobbs Thanks for replying. You sound just like my son and thankfully for him we are very understanding, to be quite honest I don't mind what he eats as long has he eats. He does have total control over choosing what and when, we went shopping yesterday but all he wanted was quorn chicken style burgers and milkshake, so we bulk brought while the going was good . He has never liked his food to touch on the plate and often will have different plates or bowls for each bit of food. My worry is that he is gone from being selective with his food to worrying that evrything is going to cause him harm, I know that he wants to eat cos he is hungry but he is afraid to eat it . Again thanks for replying people like yourself really help because you know what its like
  20. Thanks Enid and Cat, I shall go to GP and look on that site
  21. Bikemad you have just asked what I was wondering earlier on today . Yeah my username is cos what I am, what sort of bikes are you into? lets hope the others reply
  22. That is great for him and you, i bet he is happy, well done
  23. Thanks for the replies Isn't it strange how our kids are like this with their food, our son has always been the same with texture look and smell everything has got to be bland and dry, and Jo I love ketchup and mayo but I have to eat it out of sight or smell of him else it puts him off . There is definately a colour thing going on here isn't there cos he can't stand even slightly browned food either. We are going in two weeks for another appointment with CAHMs but I haven't really got much faith in them through previous experience. Enid I like the idea of the dietician but would CAHMs or GP refer us? I think with the OCD it is a fear of contamination and I do think it is this causing the food thing but it isn't just food it is anything that he would have to swallow, even medicine if he has a headache he won't take a tablet because he is convinced it will do him harm. Esther I did try the idea of making our food from scratch so he could see all the ingredients that goes in but he was still convinced that there was something already wrong with it but it was worth a thought Bikemad it is a nightmare and you really do learn to have an amazing amount of patience don't you Well thanks again everyone
  24. Hi everyone could really do with some advice if anyone has any experience of this. Our son can't or won't eat, he has always been very limited with what he eats, like a lot of aspergers kids are , but has always eat plenty now he is pretty much eating nothing. he feels hungry and wants to eat but as soon as he gets it to his mouth he say's something happens to put him off, he studies every bit of food and then thinks he can see something on it and it puts him off. We are so worried about him and he is losing weight he looks so skinny. He is suffering with OCD and I'm wondering if this could be part of it. We had an appointment with CAHMs the other day and they feel he has high anxieties and is depressed , which we knew anyway, and have suggested CBT and medication but that's not helping right now. Sorry to go on I'm just really worried. Any advice would be welcome. biker69
