  5. Hi farfalla its good you have found the forum, its somewhere you can come with people who wil not only understand but also offer help and support, it sounds like you have had a rough time already some time ago but you have now hopefully overcome that and are moving on, hope your son gets the help he needs, i too must admit to getting a little teary when reading your thread but then again it doesnt take a lot to get me going! I was interested reading your thread to about the school calling in APS LAS what are these? never heard of them enlighten me please. Mrs F x
  6. Thanks everyone <'> now i know why im constantly feeling knackered, have spent the afternoon watching the delectable keanu reeves on DVD this afternoon as just too tired to do anything else, managed to get to school on time to see them. So overjoyed but now with a reason for not doing anything LOL Mrs F x
  7. Yes i agree with whats previously been said its well as far as i know SA .... SA+...... then possible statement although they can go down the stages too which if the school are doing everything as detailed on his IEP they should really be achieving their targets as these should be realistic targets in the first place  hope this helps but there is almost certainly someone who knows the system better who will give you advice. Mrs F x
  8. My DS is really god with food, the only problem i have is having other kids round to tea as i never know what to cook them as most of them will only eat junk and my DS eats what we do and loves his veggies, i always end up asking freinds what there kids eat so that i know what sort of food to get in ready. Mrs F x

you poor thing sounds like your having a terrible time hope things get better for you soon, just glad you have found this forum and can share your problems in privacy with us decent people. Mrs F x Dont really know why i called my self Mrs as im really a miss! Have to say though Far that there are lots of proffessionals that come on here who will give you some sound advice so please dont think they are all the same. I read in one of your threads that you had the help of a knowledgable SENCO i think you were really lucky to have had someone so knowledgable as they really do make all the differance(if they want to of course) and it sounds as though yours really did that must have been a great relief to you, its just a shame that the support they get is so hit and miss it is often the case i think of 'if your face fits' something i have found also is that nice people just dont get on in this world so you may have to learn to be ruthless!!! Take care now Mrs F x

Hi its that they just seem to do everything you have asked them not to, are they trying to create problems like the last school.I mean hes only been there a month and well is already saying hes not safe there or happy there. He has had the ball kicked in his face he has had the ball kicked at he back of his head he has fallen over and they have told me none of this. He stopped after school for a sports session and at the end of the session was made to change back into his uniform they never do this any other week and it was only him out of 15 that was made to do it today when they know he hates getting changed, i think the head and the old head have had there heads toghether by the looks of it. I said before he has been elected for school council and i have found out today that this will involve a training day with 8 other primary schools including his last one so now they are going to stick him in a room with kids he was trying to get away from and they are aware of all this grrrrrrrrrrrr. I feel they are on a witch hunt and probably making me out to be some crazed woman as i know this all sounds crazy but yopu only have to look at onlyacrazygirl to know that this does appen!!! I just dont know what to do. M rs F x

Yes ed psych has been involved but cant ever seem to get a straight answer form her as to what she advised they said my child needed a level 3 TA working with him the higher grade i think a level 3 is. I just had a feeling that they wouldnt be using this TA just for him if ylou know what i mean. In my area the local secondary schools run gifted/talented workshops for Yr 5 Yr 6 children they have told us that my son was actualy in the top 5 of the school for his maths ability in Yr3, they said really because of his ability he should be going on these but because there is an age stipulation he wasnt allowed to, and also we know because these are run within a secondary school he wouldnt really manage on his own,(we kind of feel the school should be paying for someone to go with him, or even i would if needs be ) we feel this is possibly why they wanted statement to pay for this but may be wrong. Hi could anyone answer this please apart from the obvious benefits of a statement to the child who has it, do the actual school benefit in any way(financialy) that is. i know this might sound crazy i dont think that my son is statement criteria but his old school were intent on getting him 1 to 1 support at school via a statement we think he just needs minor adjustments made and my son said he often found having someone with him distracting.I know all statemnets are differant but if a child had a statement with 25hrs support how much monetry wise would this be worth. approx Mrs F x
  21. Right any advice greatly appreciated. My son has been at new school for 4 weeks(he was at SAplus at old school.)I have had no contact from SENCO is this normal(considering my son was said to be at risk of permanent exclusion at old school)there have been a couple of small incidents with him pushing children he told me about one, teacher reluctantly about the other. Now both these incidents have occured when getting changed for pe(they squash 2 classess in to 1 classroom to get changed) and my son said he feels really squashed, i think he gets quite panicky, with all the close contact. What would you consider a reasonable adjustment to overcome this could it be designated space? perhaps any other suggesstions. Also should I be pointing out to them his other needs or wait to see what they think? Also would you write confirming date and time of meeting, the reason i ask this is because the last time i tried to arrange a meeting (at old school)they panicked and then excluded him for 16 days!!! as soon as he did something, obviously didnt want to do anything so copped out instead, can i also add that new and old school have very close links with each other.I know i sound highly cynical its just that my experiences so far have not been good. His new teacher has said he has settled well but is this the initial 'denial' that they seem to do because i have been told this before and then BAM they hit you with we are having so many problems. The trouble is i cant rely on my son to tell me anything because he constantly thinks he will get into trouble even for things that arent his fault, and i must admit this is partly my fault, before we had 'heard' of aspergers we were basically treating him like a naughty child therefore punishing him for things he really couldnt help(BTW he is not diagnosed) and he is still reluctant to tell us anything and well sometimes just forgets, i mean it may well be that hes fine but feel this is unlikely to be as good as they are saying. My son has said that he does now feel safe at school and feels like he is treated fairly, and he hasnt said that in months, and i can tell from some of the things he has said that the teacher does seem to be doing fairly well with him. Also do you think its too pushy to also ask for a home/school diary so soon and also my DS has problems with people looking at him when hes upset which can then sometimes turn to anger if people do look at him, should we be asking for a quiet room so soon? I know im a bit of a ditherer but i dont want to mess up, been there done that dont wish to go there again!!! Plz your wise advice would be much appreciated.
  22. Hi llisa, like everyone else is saying if you are not sure seek medical advice, but the symptoms you are descibing are the exact symptons my son was displaying when experiencing very difficult times at school we had them all thoughroughly investigated he was admitted to hospital examined blood tests ultrasound scans and all proved to be nothing wrong we were told it was likeli this was all due to anxiety(psychological but what he was experiencing was very real) He is much better now but still often complains of these symptoms the most recent being the on the loo and drinking loads one and of course we always worry incase there is something physically wrong so generally give it a litle time and see how he goes but if no better or gets worse straight to the doctors, tust your instinct and well its best to be safe than sorryif unsure get him checked. Hope yourDS is feeling better soon. Mrs F x
