    Books

Hi all, haven't been here for a very long time Hope you will forgive me Easter has left me in no doubt that food does affect Lewis's behaviour ( easter eggs anyone?!!) and I'd like to get us all started on a more natural addidtive free diet! Haven't got a clue where to start though, there seem to be so many books out there, so I wondered if anyone had any good titles for me to start with, the real basics, and as simple as possible as I tend to get obsessed with minute detail and having it all perfect, then panic that it's all too much and never start Would be very grateful, and hope you and your lovely families are all well
  2. Will be making another app. with our doctor soon as she told us to get back in touch if the melatonin had no effect, with regards to giving us a short term heavy sedative for a kind of weeks *crisis* help. I am about to lose my mind as in the summer holidays, due to the sleep disorder I am with Lewis 24 hours a day........can't take much more Anyway, I wondered if anyone would know the name or names of this type of drug so I can look it up and do a little research before I accept it for him. Lewis is eight, and hasn't been sleeping for about 6 months now. I know there might be a few different types, but any possibles would be helpful, we are not talking mild here, we are talking the type he would take for a week to knock him right out for 12 hours Thank you in advance!

    Introductions!!

Baddad - Thanks so much for the cds. Won't be able to pick them up now as leaving early tomorrow, but Lewis is booked in for another week when we get back so will pop down and see if he would like to give it a try and if not, pick up the cds anyway - if that is ok for you? Agree totally, it was tonbridge last year and I couldn't think of a negative thing to say about it. Thst why I was so keen for him to go this time, as thought it would be the same just at a different venue. They just haven't set it up very well at all. I mean, if Esther is the only one there with experience of these kids?!!!

    Introductions!!

Baddad - Was it you then? But, I'm afraid I didn't get any CDS We haven't been back since. Getting ready for holiday, and I couldn't bear to stand there everyday trying to get him to go in I don't know, *sigh*, the one he went to last year was great, someone came to meet him at home and he had this person as a specific carer for him, also siblings were allowed to attend at extra cost. He loved it. I think this is the first year of this one, and it doesn't seem to be sorted out properly yet. I just got the impression that children with special needs were allowed to attend, as long as they didn't have any *special needs* if that makes sense?! Ho Hum. p.s - Your screen name is totally inappropriate from what I have seen about school

    Melatonin?

    Introductions!!

Hi All, How lovely to have found this place, I was given this address by a Dad of a little boy at the same school as my children. I saw him today at a summer holiday club that aims to intergrate those children with special needs with more able children, and he was very sweet in helping to trying to get my son to go in, so thank you for that! He didn't actually go in in the end, but never mind I am a mum of three, my eldest was eight yesterday and was dx with AS and DCD at four years old. We have good times and bad, although the bad seems to be getting frequent as he gets older My special parenting skills leave a lot to be desired, so I am looking forward to picking up some tips and also helping anyone with any experience I may have, and making some new friends in the same position as me! Oh, and I am near tunbridge wells in kent
