  1. Thanx all for your replys its good to know your not alone.
  2. Hi Donna K does everything spectrumlady describes. But also what you have just said about reece K does this all the time no matter what toys it is he is completely obssesed with spongebob and scooby doo reinacts his films and computer games all the time. When he was younger thomas the tank engine was it for 9 months the whole track was built up around my living room and i couldnt remove it or he would scream even if a part of it got detached it had to be fixed straight away or all hell would break loose basically. and thanx Claire
  3. Hi All Was just wondering if anyone can help, been having a really bad time with K over the last few months, he now refuses to leave the house and if i have to make him go he crys and keeps his eyes covered or his ears all the time. Anyway i wa told by CAMHS that there was no chance he could have AS as he has very low intelligence (cognitive Asses) So i asked them on the phone today if there was anyway possible he could be on the spectrum at all as i am convinced he is, what she said was she the doctor had ruled it out as he has imagination i said no he hasnt all he does is reinact his films and computer games how can that be imagination so she said she would have a look at his file and discuss it later. Do your kids have imaginations???? Are you not allowed one for a diagnosis?
  4. thanx lisa k is verbal although you wouldnt think so, as he is very withdrawn, if you get any conversation from him it is about his computer games i only wish that, i could connect with him more personally but to him that probably is as person as it is going to get! thanx for your reply its nice to know theres someone there and your not alone
  5. Sorry I didnt mean that to sound so negative, we did have some fun but it was a real struggle
  6. Hi all why is it i dont seem to connect with k??????? i know all his little ways yet i feel like we are total strangers! He is my first child who i wanted with all my heart, yet i feel like i dont even know him. we are worlds apart and i dont know how to connect, though god knows ive tryed, it is like we are strangers and he doesnt feel a single thing for me though i would give him the world. sometimes it is like the only thing he wants me to to is feed him and leave him alone and it is breaking my heart how can i show him im more than just!!!! A relationship with him is all i want yet, he doesnt understand. mine and his worlds are so far apart and i feel so helpless!! I dont know what i can do? I sometimes feel like its my fault and look for things that i could of done differently, how is it that a child can be so near yet so far???
  7. Hi Krystaltps When i9 took my k away it was a nightmare and that was just in may this year we only went for a week to minorca all carefully planned of course, but the changes was just to much for him he made noises the whole time which he wouldnt stop doing ang he physically and verbally attacked me on numerous occasions, so i know how you must be feeling

  10. Hi All just wanted to know if any of you have these problems? My k is getting more and more withdrawn i dont know whether its because of the school holidays or what but he will just does not seem to want to leave the house no matter what. It is starting to get me down I havent heard from cahms about another appointment for about 2 months now and i really wanted to talk to them about having him asessed for asd! When i do get him to go out it is with alot of arguments and tears and the whole time he id iut he walks around with his hands over his ears, i am starting to feel like a prisoner and my other ds whom is only 2 is missing out too. Can anyone shed any light on this???? what can i do?? PLEASE HELP!! I feel so depressed
  11. Hi all Just wondering if anyone else found this with there kids my k takes everything literally all the time you cannot have a laugh with him so to speak as he doesnt think what you do or say is funny anyway but it seems to be getting worse you cant open your mouth these days without him taking it the wrong way. Do your kids do this???? Is this anything to do with ASD or is it common??????
  12. Hi all Thanx for your replys i really appreciate it. His language is quite good he will make up his own words though he is very withdrawn and he has very limited understanding of language he will say he understands but doesnt really. When he speaks to you which is not very often it takes him along time to get out what he wants to say as he gets very easily confused , if you dont know him you probably wouldnt know what he was talking about. He takes everything literally so you have to be careful what you say or he screams and shouts at you. Along with lots of other things this is what makes me think he could have asd what do you think?????????????
  13. Hi everyone I posted a few days ago asking whether its possible to have asd as well as ADHD, GDD, as k's CAMHS doctor has said that due to his cognitive assesment it would be impossible for k to have aspergers as you need average or above average intelligence, which he clearly doesnt in fact what it said was that he falls within the extremely low range of intelligents. I have been convinced for some time now that hs has some form of asd, but to be honest i am tired of fighting to get them to test him as they say when they have sorted out his other problems they will see if there is anything else, and deal with that then. My concern is that if he does have asd which i have looked up alot about and other things, that he is just not getting the help he needs and its just not fair, he needs help he is so withdrawn hasnt played outside for over a year and when hes at home his time is spent in his bedroom on computer how van i get them to do it???????? Help Please
