Well i would like to thank everyone for their replys !!! Its unbeliveable !!!! my son is on 5 mg at mo and within less than a week things had changed !!!! For the better , His obsessions had calmed right down and he said he was bored !!! This was music to my ears !!! He has never been bored as his obsession with his cards kept him busy nearly all day !! He could not go out not even with us let alone on his own !!! he does now I dropped him off in the town and he talks to a young chap who sell cards and collectables in a little shop , he is wearing different cloths ( not one of his t-shirts six of the same design and colour !! ) He even put a coat on today !!!! he has never worn one before as he has not liked them !! He even went to get a Mc Donalds when he was down the town !!! PLUS - - - - - - -Icing on the cake Popped into superdrug to buy a new type of GELL he'd seen advertised !!!!!!! !I welled up as i dropped him off and saw him walking alone in town !!!!!!!!! Its like your childs first day at school, feeling / School play !!! you get my drift ! He even went round a couple of friends houses who enjoy his cards !! Now he would never have had the time for that or even want to go !! He has been on them for two weeks now and i feel like i have a new son at the mo !!! I will enjoy this for as long as it lasts !! I feel it has made him not so serious or focused on his cards and opened the door to other things !! He smiles more and shown some affection towards me !! ( this stopped long ago, teenager and all that !!!) Its so uplifting to hear a good one isnt it !!! Got to go now julia xxxxxx

Hi all . . . just wanted any feedback on this medication. My 14 year old son is finding it impossible to leave the house, this has deteriorated so much that he could not even come out to celebrate my birthday (a trip to the cinema). Its the first time he has admitted he has a problem, as he actually said to me 'I won't be able to cope', he was upset as he knew I would be disappointed. He has never gone out alone anyway, but would on occasions come out with us, and this has now stopped. He is so engrossed with Magic The Gathering cards, he finds it hard to pull away from them. His rigidity is extreme !! He also is not attending school and has been home educated since January. He suffers from occasional bouts of depression that last for only about a day or so but not to frequent . I hope this gives you some idea of my sons problems , do you think this medication will help with his symptoms ?? Also do you have any Meds that you have found helped in a similar situation ??I feel sad we have had to come to this but something has to be done !!! i look forward to your replys julia

Hi i am now home schooling my 14 year old son !! with some help from the hospital school he attended for a year , I wonder if any of you know of any good sites online !!? .He does Sam Learning online but we are looking for more sites ,We tried some others but he can take an instant dislike to them .He really enjoys a choice of answers and to drag the answer into the box !! Any hand writting is out of the question !! We are looking for good and interesting maths sites too !!! I look forward to your replys julia

Hi all My son could not cope with the aspergers unit and I had to call it a day , with the full understanding of the head !!, We have tried every trick in the book !!!! I was told today that I will have to educate my son myself !!!! He has a statement so if anyone / who is responsible for his education ???? I have a multi - agency meeting on thurs , so please tell me my sons rights !!!! At the last meeting I said I was not capable with the maths and more challenging subjects, obviously I am not a qualified teacher. I was told today "he is not ill, or he could be helped with home tutoring" In haste, look forward to your response Julia x

Hi Carole Thank you for your words of encouragement, you gave me in my last post regarding home education !!! I have a multi agency meeting on the 14 March ,I just need to know where i stand in all of this regarding home educating We are letting our son go on a business skills Deploma with webb design It is very very expensive but if it will help him get on in life its worth it !!! this he could manage it is when you want for how long you want , he is like a sponge for this and very skilled on the computer !!!As i said before he is 13 nearly 14 i would like very much to have a chat with you as you have been through this and have had experience in this matter . Hi all , This is my first posting here !! My son of 13 1/2 is now awaiting a multi - agency meeting and will be home schooled !!. In brief he has Aspergers ,OCD , ADHD ,Tourettes ,and extreme anxieties !!! His whole school life ( and life in general ) has been very hard !! When he went to secondry school he hardly attended , due to bad obssesions and Anxieties Then he spent the last year at a hospital school We found him a local school with a really good unit for aspergers children !!! He is a very clever lad and went into mainstream lessons with one to one help !! But this has all broken down He just does'nt like to leave home plus concentration is very very bad !!!!( He is house bound anyway , He has never gone out alone , He will at a push go out with mum or dad on occasions, ) So any information that you think might be of helpto me would be gratefully received !!! Also he is very gifted on the comuter and we feel his future will be in this field , i have looked into further developing his skills in this there are courses he could go on as and when he feels he can , its just up the road, he is obssessed with computers and is like a sponge for knowledge .There is a diploma at the end of it !!! I am in reciept of DLA and Carers but these courses are very costly is there anything available to help financially with this ???? I look forward to your replies many thanks julia
