  2. Deedee, Just wanted to wish you HUGE amounts of luck today hun. Just read this thread and you really are a strong lady and I know you can do this. Go for the jugular girl! By the way, can you PLEASE tell me where you got copies of the.... SEN Code of Practise My Borough's SEN policy The Education Act Houses of Parliament recommendations with regards to schooling for Autistic children ... from please?? I'll be needing them soon for my son and need to read up on them to see if I have a leg to stand on with the secondary school placement I want for him. Thanks. xx Editted to add - Managed to get ahold of the the SEN CoP (Free) but getting ahold of The Education Act is going to cost me 18 I have been quoted on the phone. :o Is that right???
  3. Ken was an inspiration to us all. He will be sadly missed. R.I.P Ken. You helped me a lot in the past hun and will always hold a special place in my heart. (((HUGS))) and my condolences to Mrs P and the Phaslets. xxx
  4. Hun, you have to do what is right for YOU and your kids. If that upsets others, then so be it. Maybe ask who the kids would prefer to spend Christmas, whether that be by yourselves or shared with their dad and/or your sis. I agree that it is all for only one day but yet the hype leading to it can go on for months. I usually have spent it with just me and my son but then popped over my sisters for a few hours after lunch. This year, we have moved out of the area (moved 3wks ago) so it will more than likely be just me and my son all day unless family decided to travel up to visit which is unlikely. All I care about is my son, as long as he is happy on the day, then I'm happy. I know that whatever you decide hun, it'll all turn out for the best. Ask the kids k, it's their dad and if your sis an't happy with your decision, then so be it. Your kids will be happy at the end of the dayif he is the choice they make.
  5. T used to be in a mainstream school in an NT class of 27 where he was mainly unsettled but is currently in a mainstream school's SEBD Unit and a class of 8 and although he's only been there almost a week, 'I' am happy but he is still going through the adjustment stage. We have only just moved home so all the changes and routine changes have taken their toll on him behaviour wise. I'm sure that once he settles in, he'll be ok.
  6. That's Wales and the Welsh Assembly for you unfortunately! Basically as useful as a chocolate teapot! I had to move from a big city in Wales to the Welsh Valleys just to get T into a half decent school that understands him and boyyy, have we hit the jackpot!
  7. I ordered mine a few months ago (when I first heard about it) and recieved it about 3-4weeks ago.
  8. T (7yrs) has just broken his beloved Nintendo DS which he ADORES! He broke his heart when he broke it and broke it during a fit of temper b/c he couldn't do a certain part of the game he was playing so bit the DS in anger which broke the screen. He expected me to just go out and replace it but I told him that it cost me lots of money and I an't got money to replace things that he decides to break. Gave him 2 options, he can either wait until his birthday (June) and not have the Dr Who DVD's he wanted for his present but instead have a DS or he could save up his pocket money (which he'll have to earn) until he has enough to replace it. Either way he has to wait for it and has learnt that things can't just be replaced at the drop of a hat. He opted to not have the Dr Who DVD's for his birthday but to have a DS instead. His choice but hopefully one that he'll know to think twice about before breaking anything again! Yes we have forty fits here for a while but he's calmed down now that he's understood that everything has consequences.
  9. Been battling deppression and stress etc etc for the past few months now. Yesterday T had a hellava day and it's knocked me for six, haven't come out of it yet. Feeling so damn low I just wanna curl up and die. I'm fed up with this shite existance of a life, constantly having to fight all the time to get what's best for T, having people not listen to me, feeling soo alone, not having anyone here physically that understands who I am and what I'm going through. My sister today said T is spoilt, um no, he is Autistic, that is why he behaves the way he does. Why doesn't anyone understand?? Thinking of putting T into care b/c I've had enough. I love him with all my heart but things can't go on the way they have been. I'm about to snap. I feel like I'm about to die and I wanna be free of all this ######! I have had enough!
  10. 10 a sheet?? :O Damn, prob cost me in the hundreds. LOL His hospital files (Pead, child clnic etc) is like 6" thick, his Pead always pretends she's gonna drop his notes when she collects um from the desk before we are called into the consultation room. Can you imagine how much I'd have to pay to access those notes alone?? :O LOL It's wrong though b/c these are ours/our kids, we shouldn't have to pay for what's written in our or their medical notes.
  11. Yep, would love to read what's in mine and my son's files. LOL Can I request a look then??
  12. All the very best of luck Flora. ((((HUGS)))) and ((((GOOD LUCK VIBES))))).
  13. I've emailled him although not sure if T can do it as he won't be 8 for a few months yet but at least I've contacted him to say I'd be jappy to do it if he was.
  14. It took me a while to find a name I liked for my son as I was adamament that he was infact a she. Thankfully I found out during a scan so had a few months to get used to the idea and to think up boys names. I hunted books, watched all the names come up at the end of TV shows etc to try and find one I liked. I narrowed it down to about 6 (had to go with his already chosen middle name) but as fate would have it, I never opted for any of those 6. LOL His name was chosen from a television show (Sally Jessy Raphael) whereby a parent came on with a child's whose name I named my son after, I loved it then just as much as I love it now. I wanted something different and unusual, wasn't until after I had my son that I realised how popular his name was! LOL
