  1. Hi Baguss. A friend of mine had this with her boy. She worried so much, but in Secondary school when he started to get into particular topics that he was really interested in he found a few really good friends who were into the same things. I'm assured that this is quite common and that these real friendships last. In my friend's case her son is now an adult and still has strong friendships made when he was at school and uni. Wishing for her positive day too.
  2. Thanks for your welcoming messages. Look forward to getting to know you all a bit more. x
  3. Sorry its a bit late, just joined the forum and B has food allergies (milk included) so I do a lot of investigating in this field. One of the best things to do when you're starting out is to contact the big Supermarkets, Tesco, Sainsbury, Asda etc, who will be able to send you a list of all the products they do that they guarantee do NOT contain certain allergens. The only trouble is, the didn't used to be able to merge them so you have to cross reference if you're avoiding more than one food. Often, the customer service desks in the local stores keep copies they could give you. It will certainly be a way of getting familiar with the products you can have, but check the labels, it not infallable. Good luck.
  4. Its my first post on the forum, i signed up a few weeks ago but its taken a while to put fingers to keys. DS, 6, has AS. I knew there was something from just a few months into his life and I said that someday someone would tell me that all these symptoms were related and that there was a name for it. Well, they just did - a few weeks ago. Although, of course, I'd already sussed it, from the web and talking to others, but school happened and so it is that these things must be categorised and dealt with. Anyway, i've been looking at some of the posts and am inspired to join in! Today seems like a good day to join in as, after a rollercoaster of the last weeks something really big happened today. DS told me he is going to let his imaginary friend live in a house of his own. I asked why and he said its because he's been playing with 'real' friends in the playground and he doesn't need him so much any more. But he will come back every Sunday at 4.45 to spend the night. Thanks for listening and hello.
