    MELATONIN

My local CAMHS team have prescribed 3 x Melatonin 3mg, but there has been no change at all. They have now told me if 3 doesn't work nothing will. J (asd and adhd) only sleeps about 2-3 hours and you can bet your bottom dollar as soon as J falls to sleep. my 14month old son will wake up. I don't know how i'm coping but yesterday i went for a walk on my own and didn't return for a few hours, I really can't even tell you where i went i just seem to be drifting through each day in a blur.
  5. Have a look on the NAS website on www.nas.org.uk or www.cafamily.org.uk they both have some really good books for siblings and www.cerebra.org.uk have a fantastic postal library so you wouldn't have to fork out for these sometimes very expensive books Good Luck Melanie
  6. We've recently had a talk on social stories and you can actuaaly make your own Example Going to the hairdressers, put a photo of your son/daughter on the first page and go through each step i.e taxi ride, bus or car journey, a photo of the hairdressers some of the things they might see there hairdryer , scissors, shavers and then a final picture of your son once they've had there hair cut or just a visit to look around. Then you can personlise it i.e This is the bus Mummy and billy need to catch to the hairdressers. You can then make a social story about anything i.e toileting, going to bed The list is endless. There are plenty of books to help you with this on the NAS website www.nas.org.uk Sorry that was a bit long winded but you get the gist.
