    My Son

Oh he gets jokes, he got some free fake cat poo with a comic ages ago, I fall for it every time, when he puts it on the stairs or the toilet floor. He loves practical jokes.

    My Son

My youngest daughter and youngest son were sat eating their breakfast when suddenly my daughter says "Henry your bums on fire", poor Henry panics , jumps up runs round screaming, so I calm him down explain it was a joke, and how some people would view it funny . So he then walks up to the Dog and stands there saying"magic your bums on fire, magic your bums on fire" of course the dog didn't respond, so he has stomped off as the dog doesn't get his joke. My poor dog.
  4. For years I have been pestering my daughters schools to assist her and get outside bodies in to assess her, after years of false promises I once again requested a Statutory assessment (5 weeks ago). Strangely with in a week school were happy to meet with me and discuss my daughter, though they think there is nothing wrong with her, and of course the have pupils who are far worse than my daughter . Well today I am going back to see them again, so they can tell me once again that there is nothing wrong with my daughter. Next week I will received the letter stating that the LA will not be assessing my daughter as they feel school is coping ( I never expected an assessment without a fight, and told school this when she said there was no point requesting one). I have the letters written ready to support my appeal already. Anyway school want to know what I want and I have no idea, complete brain freeze. Help! She is now 12 and has no concept of time, organisation, danger, temperature, or pain. She can not remember what she has done more than about 10 minutes, has been at school since September and does not have a clue what her timetable is. She can not spell to save her life, and she is now showing hearing problems again.
  5. Good luck, I always get really nervous when the witch is coming, don't know why.
  6. My son gets DLA and has been home educated for 4 years now.
  7. No but I write lists for everything. When I am going away I write a list of what I think I need, then I write a list of what I am packing, I then write another list of what I have unpacked.

    Hello Again

Hello All, I'm sure none of you will remember me, but I was a member ages ago (Haven't posted since 2006), but have not been around much. Anyway, I'm Caroline, mum of 4. My youngest Henry (80 has a formal diagnosis' of Aspergers (High Functioning Autism), Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Unilateral Hearing Loss, Chronic Lung Diseases, Sleep Apnea and more recently Cluster Headaches. (For those who do remember him, he is still Nelson Mad). My Eldest son Jamie (16) never got a diagnosis, but its clear to all the he has Aspergers, he has just joined the Navy. My eldest daughter Susan (14) still coping well with her diabetes. My Youngest Daughter Rosie (11) still desperately trying to get her a diagnosis, things are reaching crisis point now (I'll start a thread on her later). So that's it really, missed you all
  10. We now have a group/flock of 5 Silkie Bantams. The kids all have their own bantam, tagged with ankle bands for easy identification (the birds all look the same). The kids have all named their birds. Jamie has called his "Pecker", Susan's is "Purdie", Rosie's "Cutie Pie" and Henry's well what would you call you bantam, "Swimmer" Absolutely no idea why, though Rosie did once have a pair of goldfish called "Fluffy and cuddles" I just hope it never gets out, because I am not walking up and down the road calling out "swimmer, swimmer"
  11. Can't believe it , Henry has got a Blue Peter Badge. About two months ago when we first started Home Education, we did Poems and Henry made a poem. We sent it to Blue Peter (his favoraite programme). Last week a letter arrived with a Blue Peter Ship on the front and BBC, Henry was away with his Dad, so I couldn't find out the contents for about 3 days. Any way he opened it pulled out the letter very calmly and said "Nope, no badge" then the badge plopped out on to his lap and he just grabbed it it and started running around screaming " I got a blue peter badge". He is very pleased, siblings are a little green with envy.
  12. Yes my 9 year old daughter will talk to anyone, and is way to trusting. 6 year old son on the other hand hates anybody he doesn't know, and will not talk to them unless formally introduced. That said when he does know them he gets very friendly.
  13. We had a similier experience, when Henry was in school, loads of problems with the LEA, I was convinced that the Home Education Advisor would be just as bad, but they were loevly, very encouraging and dare I say it actually helpfull
