oxgirl Report post Posted January 28, 2007 This must be really difficult, lynn, it's not as if, at 21, you can lift him up and put him in the bath. Will he respond to rules and routines?? Maybe if you introduced a new rule that no dinner will be served until he is washed and changed then maybe he could get into the habit of doing it because it is a daily routine? Is it that he doesn't like the actual feeling of washing and taking his clothes off? I know that once my son has clothes on, it's almost impossible to get them off of him or change him until it is bedtime, because he has become used to the feel of having them on and taking them off makes him feel different. Sorry, no other useful ideas. Good luck. <'> ~ Mel ~
bid Report post Posted January 28, 2007 (edited) Would a written or picture timetable help, breaking down what he needs to do into simple steps, with maybe a reward when dressing/undressing/washing, etc has been completed? Sorry if you've already tried this. Bid Edited January 28, 2007 by bid
