What one song sums you up?

Recommended Posts

Saidwell, you haven't told us your song yet!

 Come on you have to spill!

For me though it will have to be Toyah ... It's a mystery! :bat:

It's The Who I'm One..

Every year is the same

And I feel it again,

I'm a loser - no chance to win.

Leaves start falling,

Come down is calling,

Loneliness starts sinking in.

But I'm one.

I am one.

And I can see

That this is me,

And I will be,

You'll all see

I'm the one.

Where do you get

Those blue blue jeans?

Faded patched secret so tight.

Where do you get

That walk oh so lean?

Your shoes and your shirts

All just right.

But I'm one etc.

I got a Gibson

Without a case

But I can't get that even tanned look on my face.

Ill fitting clothes

I blend in the crowd,

Fingers so clumsy

Voice too loud.

But I'm one.

Hev - :notworthy::lol:

Bads - :o:shame:;)

We've had a nightmare of a day today - little monkey had a big bump at school - ending up with me taking him to A&E (He's fine - thank god! :) ). Anyhow - i often get whole songs going through my mind, that seem very apt at the time. I couldn't get Snow Patrol 'Open your Eyes' out of my head at the hosp... Ho hum :(

"Open Your Eyes"

All this feels strange and untrue

And I won't waste a minute without you

My bones ache, my skin feels cold

And I'm getting so tired and so old

The anger swells in my guts

And I won't feel these slices and cuts

I want so much to open your eyes

'Cause I need you to look into mine

Tell me that you'll open your eyes [x4]

Get up, get out, get away from these liars

'Cause they don't get your soul or your fire

Take my hand, knot your fingers through mine

And we'll walk from this dark room for the last time

Every minute from this minute now

We can do what we like anywhere

I want so much to open your eyes

'Cause I need you to look into mine

Tell me that you'll open your eyes [x8]

All this feels strange and untrue

And I won't waste a minute without you

What song sums me up?? Hmmmm - i'll have to think about that one!

I don't know that it sums me up, but I tend to sing these lines from Bob Marley's Redemption Song particularly load when on my own in the car:

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery

None but ourselves can free our minds

Now i thought you would have gone for 'He's Mistra know it all' by Stevie Wonder :lol::lol:

If i was not the nice person I am I would have followed Bid and Smiley's suggestion for a response and dedicated 'bat out of hell' to you... :o:shame::shame:

The Beach Life by Tony Joe White.

One of the lyrics is:-

"And Jonathan still rules the wind"

Being an extremely proud flatulent person, this fits

Add Some Music to your Day

The Beach Boys

The sunday mornin' gospel goes good with the soul

There's blues, folk, and country, and rock like a rollin' stone

The world could come together as one

If everybody under the sun

Add some music to your day

(Add some music add some add some music to your day)

A bob didit a bop didit

You'll hear it while you're walkin' by a neighbor's home

You'll hear it faintly in the distance when you're on the phone

You're sittin' in a dentist's chair

And they've got music for you there

To add some music

(Add some music add some add some music to your)

To your day

A bob didit a bop didit

Add some music music everywhere (add some music)

Add some add some add some add some music (add some music)

Your doctor knows it keeps you calm

Your preacher adds it to his psalms

So add some music

(Add some music add some add some music to your)

To your day

Music

(Add some music add some music)

When you're alone

(Add some music add some music)

Is like a companion

(Add some music add some music)

For your lonely soul

Oo oo oo woo oo woo oo oo oo oooo

When day is over (when day is over)

I close my tired eyes (I close my tired)

Music is in my soul

At a movie you can feel it touching your heart

And on every day of the summertime

You'll hear children chasing ice cream carts

They'll play it on your wedding day

There must be 'bout a million ways

To add some music

(Add some music add some add some music to your)

To your day

Add some music to your day

Add some music to your day

Add some music to your day

Add some music to your day

Add some music to your day

I love REM's Everybody Hurts.....and I've always wanted to get out of the car in a traffic jam and walk away, with youngest dd screeching hysterically "we've stopped, we've stopped, make the cars go again" ringing in my ears

I love that video too. We went to see REM at Loch Loman a couple of years ago and that song is unbelievable live

mine has to be basket case by green day.

Do you have the time to listen to me whine?

About nothin' and everything all at once?

I am one of those, melodramatic fools.

Nuerotic to the bone, no doubt about it.

Sometimes I give myself the creeps,

Sometimes my mind plays trick on me

It all keeps adding up,

I think I'm crackin' up.

Am I just paranoid?

I'm just stoned.

just change the stoned bit to tired
