David Matthew Baker Report post Posted April 29, 2007 (edited) My camera (well I actually got it as a present for my mum - just borrow it every now and then ) is a digital one. Didn't actually take many pictures when we were together as a group. I think there is only 1 with any of the others on it. Doubt if they even know about it. Was later on when the group size had decreased a bit and we were watching a race on the river whilst going for a little strole. Took far more pictures today. Was enjoying myself too much yesterday to remember to use it. The others had cameras as well though. Should be a few pictures of cute gooslings too from by the river. As the others said it was a great day. I really enjoyed meeting everyone. As you've probably gathered I'm back safe now. If a bit tired. Spent today (up till about 4:30pm) looking around Oxford. Decided last night that I'd like to go and see Tolkien's grave so fitted that in too. Also decided to try his and the Inklings local out. It was a nice pub though only had one drink there. Known locally as 'The Bird and Baby'. Also did a couple of trips round on the tour buses and one tour round with the tourist informations walking tour. Both of the tours were enjoyable. Sitting on a bus I even remembered to get the camera out and use it. Will try and remember to use it more next weekend (assuming I take it and the others don't mind). I seem to have been nominated chief gossiper for that event too. Not put pics on computer yet. Only been back a short while (as in just before 10). At least on the way back all my trains ran to time and I never ended up travelling back the way I came. As for a Manchester meetup I'd be up for it if I'm around. If your talking school summer holiday though I am away for 5 weeks of it. I'm around for most of the very last week from memory though. Kathryn Report post Posted April 30, 2007 Hi David, Glad you enjoyed the rest of your time in Oxford and got back OK. You seem to have done the town pretty thoroughly in the short time available! It was a great day, I was rather envious of you staying on and having extra time to mooch around.
