mandyque Report post Posted January 8, 2008 That's one of Ben's faves too, along with 'you think I aint worth a dollar'... The first time he heard it was when we were in the car... of course, he whacked the volume up for the quiet intro and then nearly went through the sunroof when the main track kicked in! And we haven't even got a sun roof!! Oh yes, it's a great one for blasting in the car, the whole album is a complete mosh-fest! More nice loud stuff - I haven't heard of them before, that's pretty good, thanks for that
baddad Report post Posted January 9, 2008 I haven't heard of them before, that's pretty good, thanks for that But alas, already they are no more You've probably heard Toni halliday (vox) on Leftfields 'Original' (or one of her other collaborations).. Tally - some nice choons there I've been buying loads in the sales too - i love the sales! Thought we should hear this 'cos it's brilliant and if anyone mentions that awful cover version that's kicking about at the mo I'll skweem and skweem until I'm sick: and then - have we had any hip hop yet?... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wv5sR9GDVx4
Tally Report post Posted January 9, 2008 I used to really LOVE music, but I kind of lost all my interests in about 1999, and then I just had to listen to whatever The Ex played because he played it so loud. Been enjoying rebuilding my interests just lately. It's nice to listen to all these songs and be allowed to have an opinion on them. It's been EIGHT YEARS since I have been able to do that! David Matthew Baker Report post Posted January 9, 2008 (edited) Not actually looked through these as haven't normally been using a PC. Now to find out what you posted. Heres another jingle I like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmKmcHPNuxY It's another Lindisfarne song but not played by Lindisfarne. Instead it is a band formed by an ex Lindisfarne member Marty Craggs. They're called the Happy Cats. Yes I know both the others you've posted very well. Now off to find one of my other favs. downloaded it on my phone so I know it's there. (Its nice to have Wifi on my phone means I can download stuff on our normal internet connection. ) Edited January 9, 2008 by David Matthew Baker

Frangipani Report post Posted January 10, 2008 (edited) Some really really really really old music - my Uncle used to play in a band. baddad Report post Posted January 10, 2008 (edited) I was sure this would be among that bunch....... Sorry in advance to any Gordens out there SV Actually, i prefered the B-Side, 'I love Sharon', which included the immortal lines: ...On Wednesday Sharon goes baby sitting For her mum's friend, Mrs Higgin's And i go with her to watch telly - The kids are horrible and the house is dead smelly But it's all worth it 'cos when they go to bed We start snogging on the so-o-fa... AND Then on Saturday nights we go To the bus shelter at the end of our road We sit in it and mess about And then we go and buy some chips The best teenage love song EVER (but sadly no U-Tube vid)... Also there was no U-Tube vido of the much older JJ (now appearing as John Shuttleworth in a working man's club near you) performing this little gem - so you'll have to settle for the 'euro-mix': I did have a 'Gordon is a moron' badge, which i wore on the other lapel of my brown cord jacket (the left one had a snoopy sleeping in the letter 'd'), and i nearly got into a fight with a Moron called Gordon at the Tropicana because he took offence at it. But when a few other people pointed out that he was, in fact, a moron so the badge was entirely accurate and it all ended amicably Ahhhh, those were the days... I was three, BTW, if anyone's trying to work out my age - and the Tropicana had a creche facility L&P BD Oh - quiz time... Which soap character had an onscreen affair with 'Jilted John' (and then they went and bought some chips!) Edited January 10, 2008 by baddad

David Matthew Baker Report post Posted January 10, 2008 (edited) You still have a record collection? My daughter and her friends were talking about records the other day, as if they were describing a manticore. Heard of but unsure what they look like or what they did. I have a record collection too. Not sure where they are at the moment as mum changed the living room while I was in Kenya over the summer. Wait a min. I'll be right back ........ ...... Okay a little worried now mum doesn't know what she did with them. Have quite a collection including Lindisfarne (of course), some classical, and various other bits. I think they give a warmer more wholesome sound than CDs do. My SACDs come close (and have the advantage of been multichannel) but there is something to be said for the sound from a good LP. I even quite like the quite hiss and occasional pop you get. I hope mum hasn't got rid of them as some are hard to find. There was Telarc 1812 recording (from the first time they did it - with a warning on it that it might damage your speakers as they recorded cannons at a high level) and Mike Batt's 'Hunting of the Snark' amoungst others. Now as I've mentioned Hunting of the Snark here is one of the songs from it. Along with some clips from a cartoon I remember fondly from my childhood (that is about to be released on DVD later this year - I know I'm sad ): http://youtube.com/watch?v=AlRvggag47w For anyone who remembers 'Big Break' the TV game show that's theme tune comes from the hunting of the snark. David Matthew Baker Report post Posted January 11, 2008 (edited) Can't hurry love - I've always liked this song though had the lyrics wrong in my head which caused me fun finding it. I had it as can't hurry life, it's a game of give and take. Search for the Hero Inside Yourself - Another nice song. With a nice idea that there is good in everyone. Wish more people would access it and help others at times. I think most of us on here probably have the key to our minds. As everyone is so supportive of each other.
