We won I'm completely numb. Thought I would be ecstatic, which deep down I am, but I have no emotion. I'm just utterly gob smacked and in shock. What does it mean, what will happen now?? ~ Mel ~ It means that he now has a statement with extensive OT and SALT quantified as an educational need. He will be going to one of the Priory schools as a weekly border. I don't know the time scales I haven't read it all yet but I think it has to be implemented within 4 or 5 weeks (what my solicitor said but I wasn't really taking it in) so he will start at the priory school probably after the Easter Holidays. I'm still in shock and numb. I don't feel anything. I will post details of the actual hearing when I get back from the dentist. There are people here who have knowingly or unknowlingly supported and encouraged me, and some that have given me priceless advice. Kathryn, Suze, bid, baddad and annie have supported me in different ways since this battle began which was really nearly 3 years ago. For lots of different reasons their advice, support or shared experience have helped me get through this and inspired me to keep going. Lots of other people have helped too some knowingly some unknowling;helen, stressedmum, jsmum. If I've missed anyone out who helped me keep going then I'm really sorry but my head is a bit of a whirl. Probably the prize for the most pertinent (in this case) bit of advice that got through my thick skull was from baddad. Last June baddad posted in a thread to me telling me to put EVERYTHING in writing and not to agree to or discuss anything over the phone. It was advice that had probably been given before but for various reasons this time it sunk in and that's exactly what I did (and became extremely annoying to my LEA as a result), BUT it meant when the lies started creeping out as things hotted up I was able to prove it all with documented evidence that what had been said HAD been said or that something else HADN'T been said. Anyone else taking on their LEA this is obvious but absolutely vital even if it is painstaking. anway, speech over but without this forum and all the excellent knowledge, information and support I don't think this could have been achieved.
