KarenT Report post Posted March 24, 2008 Hobbies... ah yes, I remember that... I manage to fit in the odd Sudoku from time to time. And chocolate. If I get a half hour off I sleep. Gone are the days when I did anything productive with 'spare' time Karen x

Stella63 Report post Posted March 24, 2008 Hi Well, after keeping up with the forum!!!! Have to do the spider solitaire at least once a day. Bit of reading ( and now I've just finished my 6000 word essay on Aspergers I don't feel guilty about reading anymore!!). Bit of gardening. Bit of cross stitch. Bit of playing the piano (again, no guilt anymore) Bit of singing ( school senior singers choir - good for the soul) Looking at the above, it appears I do a lot of bits of things and nothing full on - oh well, it keeps me happy!!! Tally Report post Posted March 24, 2008 Reading seems to be a common hobby around here. We have a long thread somewhere about what we are reading at the moment! I belong to a book-swapping website, but at the moment I have a HUUUGE pile of books to read, probably enough to last me until the end of the year I also enjoy sudoku. I like them quite hard, but not extremely difficult. I get a sudoku magazine called Sudoku Grand Masters, and they get difficult toward the end and I sometimes have to cheat on the last couple of pages I like cross stitching too. I make some birthday cards, but I don't have the patience for any big projects. At the moment I am making a card for my brother with a cactus and a wigwam! Imposter Report post Posted March 25, 2008 My first two are a bit odd for someone with AS! Watching football - Stockport County F.C. - I go to every game. Punk/Ska/Oi! music - prefer listening in my room/on headphones but sometimes go to the odd gig - went to see Bad Manners in February - was first gig for about 9 months. Reading - all sorts but mainly Russian stuff (Tolstoy, Dostoevesky etc..) and the "science-fiction-rock-and-roll-comedy" of Robert Rankin. Watching television - drama's/soaps mainly - Eastenders - the Bill, Casualty - DR WHO and TORCHWOOD cannot be missed though! Walking the dog - prefer to do it on my own - and don't like having to talk to people when I'm there, shy away from the dog-walker's small-talk rubbish. Messing on the internet. Also write - drama/plays and poetry - had a short play put on at a theatre in Manchester - also done some occassional performance poetry (a bit John Cooper Clarke meets Napalm Death is my sort of style - angry, loud, but fun) - but not done any performance for about 15 months for various reasons - still write though. At the moment though, going to County or walking the dog, aside, I tend to spend most of my time in my room - doing quiet and sedate things. I make it sound like I do loads - but I don't - it just seems it.

David Matthew Baker Report post Posted March 25, 2008 Present hobbies are: Gaming (mainly 360 but also PC, Wii and PS3) Reading (normally Fantasy) Ones that I plan on picking backup: Aquatics (once I can afford it - always liked having a fish tank - Discus are lovely [but messy]) Model Railways (have recently purchased a N gauge Sir Nigel Gresley not got any track really though) Kayaking (would like to work up the star ranks. Got my 2 star ages back but would like to go further) Most of it comes down to finances though. Don't have enough money at the moment. Will be better soon though as working again. Was just surviving on grants for teacher training before.
Kathryn Report post Posted March 25, 2008 Acting and playing tennis - but not at the same time! Unfortunately these are activities I can really only do with other people - so when I'm on my own I like reading, mainly. K x

warrenpenalver Report post Posted March 26, 2008 I have several hobbies but never at the same time if that makes sense. I tend to obsess over a hobby then switch to another and back again at a later date, depending on time, circumstances or just random. Cars, driving fast round corners to get g-force and hence modifying cars to achieve this. Its a sensory overload thing i guess. I like the motion but not the noise. and i like lots of all over body pressure so bucket seats, harness' and a helmet is great as its all nice and firm pressure over the body. Also its expensive!!! LEGO!!!!!!! I like lego especially lego technic and the complexity of the models. I also build the star wars lego models and i want the lego death star with over 3000 pieces!!! Helping people by offering logical advice. my friend and my aqaiuntances have some similar problems to me so looking from the outside i can give logical advice free from being clouded by emotions. Modes of transport, varies between buses, trains, planes. Fascination with the Sea Harrier FRS.1 with twin aden 30mm cannon, twin sidewinders and twin drop-fuel tanks. If i had millions to spare this is the jet id have to own and fly!!!!!
Kinda Report post Posted March 26, 2008 Reading and have enough books to last me for a couple of years if I never bought another book, cycling and more recently I've picked up my saxophone again after 10 years. I've joined a music school that has players aged 6-60 years and there are spin off little bands, quartets and groups. I love the theory as much as the playing. bid Report post Posted March 26, 2008 (edited) Reading. Sewing, woodwork and general 'makey' stuff...all house-focused since I've been a grown-up I used to draw, but that's gone now...I think it was linked with being 'me' before I made a conscious decision to pretend to be normal to survive when I was 18 or so. Sad, but the benefits of finding a place in the world outway the sadness. But I think that creative/aesthetic part of me now finds expression in my clothes and my home. Sparklies Colour and my emotional relationship with it. My job (how tragic, but I really do love it!). I have dreamt about work for the last week!
