Imelda Report post Posted August 7, 2008 Well done. It makes me so mad that we have to resort to going to court for our kids basic rights to the right kind of education. I wish you all the very best. A friend of mine removed her son from school last year because of bullying, he's not been offered anything yet. I'll send her the link to the article. JsMum Report post Posted August 7, 2008 Hi, what fantastic inspiring news, you give faith back to parents that are in the tight grips of the LEA, It is not right what the LEA are doing, it is the same in our area, and were not far away from you, I loved the reply from the LA saying there is now a place in september yes after a very stressful court case, the stress and pressure on you must be ammence. my son has had severe anxiety around school as he attends a mainstream primary and not meeting his SENs and had school refusal for over a year, we were threatened with a parent contract if I didnt get my son in school, so your right the LA really do bully and threaten if its the other way round, we now have a solisitor and ipsea and other educational laws fighting our corner to get our son in a alternative education and a specialist school, its been a real fight because all of the services, Health, social, education colude and close ranks and make it so hard to access the right provisions because there so scared of the implications a disability will cost them, its disgusting, your story will really help parents in similair situations with children with special educational needs, highlight your situation as much as you can, its brilliant he has got a high standard care alternative provisions I have visited the school and it has fantastic facilities, sadly only for those who will fight for it, I hope that your son is happy, he certainly will be getting all the support he needs now.
