TheNeil Report post Posted December 2, 2008 Despite being sub-zero it seemed to rain here overnight ...then it all froze (so lots of lovely ice everywhere )
chris54 Report post Posted December 2, 2008 No snow here. I'm not over upset about it. I don't mind looking at the snow and all that. The bit I don't like is when I have to go out in it, not looking forward to trudging up to the school and back in the snow, pavements all icy, and the cold,I don't like the cold. Tally Report post Posted December 2, 2008 When I was small, my school was down a big dip, accessible by a steep path. One day it was really icy and my mum slipped and slid all the way down the slope with my brother in the pram (I'd like to point out that, as no one was hurt, it is OK to laugh at this!) It's still raining here. Last year a grit lorry went around, followed by a road sweeper. It was very amusing to watch, and ended up in all the newspapers as an example of West Country intellect. Fortunately, we rarely get so cold here that the pavements get iced up.

chris54 Report post Posted December 2, 2008 Where we use to live, on the south coast, it was not unusual for the council to leave it to late calling out the gritters. "Sorry we haven't gritted the roads as the drivers cant get to work because the roads are to icy" And one time the police didn't go out on patrol "Its a bit to cold ". And then there was the year that the council ran out of road grit.

billabong Report post Posted December 6, 2008 Would you believe it? It finally snowed properly in our little north-eastern town ... just when I was away for a few days in Spain. I'm so glad there are some of your lovely photos to see. There's still some snow around here and some extremely icy pavements which makes for an interesting walk home from work. Any more snow before Christmas? Billabong

pookie170 Report post Posted December 7, 2008 Think of the dusting of icing you get on luxury mince pies- that kind of level of snowfall was what we got in central falkirk! I imagine those up in the hills got a bit more but I was totally disappointed!!! Me an' Bing are like that, y'know - we're dreaming of a white christmas!!
